  1. well...I don't know what we have here, oak or ivy, whatever it is puts me in the emergency room, I won't go into the details of the Poison Oak Debacle of '03 but.....right after that is when I got C. Diff. harumph. but the whole thing was really my fault because....didn't I already tell this story here? I applied the leaf directly to my arm, after...
  2. Rachel love the new avatar. And no, agreeing w/ Carla, it was your location, feeding the deer wouldn't have put you any more at risk, I think.....not ALL the ticks are on the deer, many are just floating around. Remember, we hiked all the time in Garrapata, no deer on those trails (too steep) but tons of ticks. Of course, those were dog ticks and not...
  3. she said stupider (a word I particularly like that isn't really a word, one of many) okay...so not the Stash tea..... I don't know what then but I DO know that I can't eat grapes any more. But there was nothing new yesterday.....that means it was the QUANTITY of flax seed chips yesterday from Trader JOe's....I can't eat half a bag. WHAT...
  4. death by stupidity ....that's a good one. I am observing, as I get older, that many people are so entrenched in their unhealthy habits and USED to their lesser quality of life that it is easier to stay with that, with the familiar rut, than it is to change. Think about it.....just think about how radical it is to completely remove gluten, for example...
  5. You mean it's not considered "balancing" when they show you how much money they took out?
  6. But what about all the preservatives/chemicals? Those make me sick. I really miss hot dogs, I had some sausage that was gluten-free but all the other junk gave me really bad D.....any ideas?
  7. balance a checkbook? what is that? OMG I seriously haven't balanced it in years. I just go to my online statement all the time and look to see what's cleared and what's left. Um, should I be balancing it? isn't that the bank's job? Queenly indeed OMG Bulldogs are still playing today.....forgot to put my voodoo...
  8. me too... And BAM, she just calmly pops in and drops this on us, JULIE OMG!!!!! Again, I am both ecstatic and devastated for you, all at once....OMG! More and more of you....this is so crazy.....but this will lead to health, I think! I am praying for you and everyone else to JUST GET WELL. Sending hugs and love, gotta...

  11. I have not seen a gluten-free mac and cheese there ever....something we'll have to make ourselves, I think.
  12. Riveting indeed.
  13. Rachel....do you remember, before I "knew" you that I used to always tell you that you should be a nutritionist or dietitian or something? well now we know what your destiny is....LAUGHING LYME BIOSET LADY!!!!! Yup, Thursday nights are my big TV night (read: loser night ) becasue I crawl into my cozy bed with magazines and one dog, and...
  14. Morning Patti..... it's brown rice. Yummy. Remember to add a lot of olive oil when cooking and stir a lot as it tends to stick together. Oh - I add water when re-heating in microwave, too.
  15. Yes, probably pumpkin bread, it being the season, and all Richard.....please explain new avatar, once again.....
  16. This is my favorite pasta, and the only one I'd been eating for this whole time until I just recently tried Tinkyada. I thought the Tinkyada was okay.....but I really love the Trader Joe's pasta. I think I do cook it a little longer than it says, not sure, and I add planty of olive oil when cooking. Yum!
  17. Laura.....so glad you got that over with ! Just a quick note......um, where is our friend Richard?
  18. oh Silly Bev, of COURSE you didnt' upset me! I just thought, that's a really low number and I don't know the statistics, but had read it not so long ago because of my friend's daughter, and it was shockingly high. Not to worry. Adorable picture, BTW. Rachel....I take a sub-lingual B12 from Trader Joe's.....I wonder if something like...
  19. It's on the shelves. I think it says NOT to freeze it, but I always freeze mine, and haven't had any problems. I agree with this Nini, and I actually never ate white bread before dx, but this is quite tolerable, I have used it toasted as hamburger buns also. Between this bread, the Whole Foods Sandwich bread, and the Food4Life brown rice sweetened...
  20. Prozac....this made me want to kill myself and kill other people (well, not really) and I was CRAWLING OUT OF MY SKIN. Absolutely horrible stuff for me, tried it twice, two weeks each time, totally awful for me. BUT if works well for many people. Unfortunately, I have been on and off every psychotropic medicine you can name for most of the last...
  21. Yup, they all did this, remember not having any seat belts growing up you could just bounce around in that metal box on wheels.....so the moms threw their arms across us. I still do it to my friends, just to be silly, of course. Um, am I the only one whose parents never worried? and I was such a savage child, running wild, god knows...

Allison I don't know whether to make the angry face or the cackling face because I am both furious and astonished and lauging at the lunacy of it all at once......and I am glad you said that to her, you sassy gal this gives me fits and makes me want to HURT them!!! Carla - amazing! So when are you going? Also your church meeting...
  23. It is all about MONEY. And it is SO terrible, and yes, Andrea, the world IS going to hell in a handbasket.
  24. Um, ahem, would just like to clarify that it was our dear Patti who used the word Conundrum. And yes, that is a good wine. I didn't want to mention this before.....but C. Diff does kill one-third of patients who get it. Yes, I am beyond worried too....Judy I know you'll let us know as soon as you hear anything. And, the reaction to...
