  1. Tavi - - have a great time! Give us an update when you can....and no Krispy Kremes!
  2. Lynne - how are things today?? How ya feeling? Give us an update. I just know you're going to figure this out and in the end, Karen is right, it just matters that you are THERE. And, if you go the Cleopatra route in the throne, you can borrow the cute cops from the OMG thread to carry you in. Sending love and health and hugs.... ...
  3. I haven't heard anything about an earthquake - they happen all the time, and my best friend in San Jose would have told me about it if it was anything significant - if it was big enough that the power went out, we'd have heard about it. Not like Rachel at all, and yes, she loves us, she would FIND another computer and send us a note, I am sure! I...
  4. Lynnie, I am so sorry! You must simply hire some minions to carry you down the aisle, on a cleopatra-esque throne thing, you know, the strong men carrying the poles, and you reclining luxuriously...... I hope this passes and you can get down that aisle any way you choose! Sending hugs and hope you feel better very, very soon. (penguin - ...
  5. You've got it, mango, excellent use of our new word! And WHAT is this delicious gluten-free bread you speak of????? WHY have they managed to do it down there, and we can't do it here????? since you are our far-off land researcher, you MUST corner them and find out what is in the bread and how they do it.....bring it home to our Rachelville lab for extreme...
  6. Yes, all the dramatic and wonderful changes in my life began early this year, when removing gluten. My blood pressure has been consistently up and recent blood test showed that cells were normal size. I almost never, ever feel droopy and sleepy any more! You'll get there too, give it time. I did, BTW, change my diet radically, in addition to...
  7. Yeah, exactly, it's been mostly goofy stuff here for pages and pages - hardly a science lesson, which means Rachel is feeling fabulous - tell us what's up!!!
  8. Hi Lisa, I have had incredibly low blood pressure my entire life, to the point of nearly blacking out. Wow, you're the only person I know of who's ever registered as low as mine! Kind of hard to function, isn't it (it was for me on the days when it was inordinately low)? I was extremely athletic, also, and most of my life my resting pulse was 55 to...
  9. Hi Ashley, Have you been very strictly gluten-free since April of '05? Are you eating a healthy and pure diet - lots of fresh produce, lean meats/chicken/fish, enough protein, minimal sugar, etc? It probably is difficult, with your schedule. I find that eating processed foods, even though they're gluten-free, makes me feel worse - I can get depressed...
  10. This is exactly what I was going to say. I didn't buy JIF the other day (my forner favorite! ) because there were too many ingredients in it, and the hydrogenated oils. I once read that the PROCESS of hydrogenating oils can actually involve gluten - - but, the hydrogenated oils are just so unhealthy anyway, that I now avoid them and pretty much all...
  11. How long has she been gluten-free, and how old is she? Mine (ADD) has improved by leaps and bounds all the time, and I almost never take the meds (concerta). oh WAIT - - I am just assuming she IS gluten-free, and may not be!
  12. Canadian Karen also posted a link the other day to resize photos that was quite good - - wish I had added it to favorites as it is SO many pages back, and you know how we feel about GOING BACK.................. the dingos are staring so hard at me that I can feel it - - can you guys feel it? it's so intense, I have changed clothes and they know it...
  13. there's my girl, spinaching herself with laughter again... andrea - glad you got a laugh - - you must be so tired with three kids and home-schooling, I really admire you! I am tired from two dogs - - but unfortunatley you can't throw your kids in the back yard and make them stay out there when they annoy you........... p.s. Plus, my new picture...
  14. Very good update - except for the gagging part. Oh I do pray this resolves itself soon....but good to be home, isn't it? Vincent - excellent smiley
  15. have we met? I'm newer here (maybe page....one-hundred something?)....do you mean NO poop at all, or just no GEESE poop? and oh, what is that great mystery of which you speak, did you have a Celiac stalker? did the name start with a B......I have to know, curiosity will drive me mad.... and did you get an ACTUAL facelift? I so wish I could afford...
  16. Awwwwwwwww thanks Cecile, but remember, IT"S NOT A CLOSEUP.......like a Monet, anyone can look good from far away.... Oh Dear Cecile, keep on praying.....we will have you in prayer, look at little Megan and ALL the people praying for her.....we don't always get the answer we want, but we do get an answer (yes, no, or wait - not to get theological or...
  17. Oh dear, , fellow Rachelvillians in distress, I am so sorry for you. Of course you all deserve words of kindness and support, the fact that we can't eat what everybody else eats is frustration in itself....a slip-up, whether accidental or intentional......well, spinach happens, no matter how, and unless one of you dear souls just starts eating Krispy Kreme...
  18. I"m afraid of horses, but would still LOVE LOVE LOVE to go to this place. Thanks for the info!
  19. OOPS!! Yup, I meant you, Lisa.... premature post, reading on......
  20. To me it sounds like Celiac, but I'm not that familiar with Crohns.....are they goign to do any testing? Because, to get accurate results, you MUST be consuming gluten, unfortunately, so you might want to do the testing soon....if you don't want to bother with the testing, just remove gluten - and you must be VERY strict about this, checking lotions, chapstick...
  21. Rinne - very well said and gave it more.....dignity. Gimme some sugar - - v. southern, no one says it here and if they did, it would probably be called harassment...too bad. YOu know, I was thinking about all of these wonderful traditions you all have, you in other parts of the country (not the West), shucking the corn, stewing/canning tomatoes...
  22. good news!!! hallelujah!
  23. wellll, technically, we started out by saying something about laughing so hard we spinached our pants...I can't trace the actual etymoligical (sp?) origins of our new word....but our dingbat Cecile had it all over her bed, there may have been some mention (probably by yours truly ) of the fact that it was a good thing it was only SPINACH, and, um, not something...
  24. Nancy described it very well. I remember toward the end, almost losing blocks of time, too. Having entire conversations that I didn't even remember. And, could no longer read books, and I'd been an avid reader, but couldn't follow and retain plots any more. I was down to the simplest of magazines in my reading, many days found it too arduous to even read...
  25. CECILE - - get on a plane and come to California, we are having the most wonderful cooling spell! Will be praying for you back there...that is heinous... Ugh. Wasn't finished with sewing. I am now finished but I think I'm in post-traumatic stress and could use a stiff drink. Ruined two whole days with that project. ugh. my mind is...
