Or allow us to SEE the phaeries? means we are truly mad.......and, I forgot to add Barracuda to the list of bad kissers - 'tis a step far beyond Darter Fish and could involve tonsil contact. trace amounts of dairy...
  3. Cooking is such an art form.....and my creativity, unfortunately - since due to Celiac I am now required to cook nearly every day - takes its flight in so many other media.....cooking is just drudgery to me! I WISH that I enjoyed it more......but chopping, measuring (or not - I only measure when I bake), the acquisition and preparation of food has alwyas...
  4. hmmmmmm....I think only antibiotics can be a "cure." Other than that, you're probably right...everything else treats symptoms. And yes, there's no MONEY involved in gluten removal, so doctors/pharmaceutical companies don't really give a crap about it, and most never will. If we're all healthy, how would they stay afloat? They don't want this....
  5. Leeches are what we call Sucker Fish. They're ALL fish. All the bad kissers will be described as follows, for your entertainment. [i made these up in high school. Friends love them. ] Shark: Visible teeth marks remain around the outside of the mouth after the session. One feels devoured, and not in a good way. Sucker Fish: very unpleasant...
  6. Jenn and I ONLY got pharmers the other night whilst out carousing. They were incredibly, stultifyingly vapid and uninteresting and, oh, VERY VERY YOUNG. correct. There WAS a Phrank, but he was not Minnow Tongue, no. This was not a Phrank. No names shall be given, please. sorry, again, no. ...

Exciting news about your hubby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Phecal Phat is phunny to say. Dating..............oh dear gawwd. Horrible topic these days....
  8. Oh I think you know exactly what I meant. Yes, I love how she and her brother shriek all the time upon hearing Hyacinth's voice..... See, this is why I am not allowed to have expanded cable......I would have watched this ALL DAY.....into the night.........and every day thereafter. *sigh* The Food...
  9. Lisa, I live in the San Joaquin Valley - the most major agricultural area in the nation (read: BORING!) and I was shocked and delighted beyond belief when an Ethiopian restaurant opened here....the chef was thrilled to make gluten-free teff for me, and everything was absolutely to die for! I'll go there again, and soon. I am afraid, however, due to...
  10. Oh Julie, sorry to keep you on the edge of your seat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, the LOL suit did arrive! It is a true raisin coloUr - chocolate brown, so NOT burgundy. I THINK I like it.......yet have to wait until I feel better, try it on w/ appropriate accoutrements, etc. I was too befuddled to tell if I really LOVED it........the pants were a bit...
  11. This is the most exotic thread I have ever read on this forum! Just wanted to tell you guys that. I am sure I won't even attempt this phyllo/voul-au-vent of which you two are speaking......but gosh, everything you describe - the foods, the locations, all of it - just sounds so.....delicious and exotic. Reminds me of a movie - a Vietnamese film, maybe...
  12. oh - I missed that - - - I am not remotely a fan of Jordan Sparks and.....never quite understood how she won Idol...... Back to Hyacinth. Have to keep checking computer, I am bidding on some shoes (for my Lady of Leeeeeeeeeeeezure suit) on ebay.

Good, solid, GROWN UP (adult) American Rocker. V. glad they didn't have some insipid teenager like......Hannah Montana or something, given how incredibly...
  14. No, most decidedly, no. Most of us here see this...but unfortunately, most DOCTORS do not.........no money in it for them. And do not forget about MSG - one of the vilest of all the evils. I don't know about its use in the UK - but in America, it's everywhere, and it's one of the major causes of the morbid obesity we are seeing more and...
  15. OMG - WHAT? He's everywhere. Missed that one - - had I seen it, my rant would have been much longer. Yes, those viruses DO go around that cause vertigo......I do hope your case isn't too severe. Nevertheless, Annie and I are on our way, do keep that end of the couch cleared, we are excited about your wee wee party. And don't you worry, you won...
  16. oh, one can only hope. I just don't think so, though, she's really very food-driven.....other chores don't seem to interest her. AND, BTW, when she CLAIMS she's making snacks for BOTH of us, she manages to eat them all, every time, before I even KNOW what's been done in there. Julie! OMG, vertigo? had that once.....years...
  17. I can't make out what it is exactly......some ersatz dog-food flavoUred ghoul-ash. She ate all the wings, though.......now it's just the chips and this stuff she's trying to pass off as dip.
  18. p.s. Goddess - I"ve hijacked your thread! So sorry. I would just like to add.....I think the fight for mental health is exactly that - a FIGHT - - and one must use whatever is in one's arsenal to find his or her balance. My FIRST recommendation for anyone - I will shout it from the rooftops - is a gluten-free diet. Sadly, few will listen.
  19. I went back on antidepressants last spring, when I took a deep and horrible plummet - - felt suicidal again. Back to therapeutic dose for a while, then tapering to low maintenance dose....I will take them the rest of my life, if I have to........you see, my brain is wired in such a way - since earliest childhood memory - to go from zero to suicide in a...
  20. Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!   this is brilliant beyond belief!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, feeling better but certainly not tip-top - - it COULD come back w/ a vengeance if I'm not careful........... Annie and I are having a wee Super Bowl party. She is in the kitchen, making...
  21. I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I forgot to mention it, Patti, it's SUCH good news, how great you're feeling, running around, and now, creating your SPA bathroom............ Nicola - what are "skyhooks?" Okay - MOMS - help me - - see, I started feeling awful last Wednesday, got worse and worse, today is better, I am upright, but glands are still...
  22. Hey, Rice Guy Wait - - don't get me wrong - - - I DO in fact endorse antidepressants for many people. I am still on a low dose - - I take Effexor every two to three days and STILL take Seroquel for sleep - - but instead of 500 mgs. I take 75 to 100 mgs. I will probably ALWAYS take something for sleep - - I can't even begin to tell you of my sleep...

  24. a distinct GUFFAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I find it a scream, also, and have done it myself. Have never tried your other idea, though........replacing the photos in stores w/ rejects......mygawd, if you have actually done this Emily, and you are not telling fibs, you have been exalted in my mind to......madder than anyone. Truly. If we lived...
  25. Hi there, I'm wondering what brought you to this forum....are you possibly celiac? Or just gluten-intolerant? I was put on permanent disability for severe bipolar II depression. Life was absolutely insane for me....and totally hopeless until I removed gluten, two years ago. Mental health has done a complete reversal - - I would go so far as to...
