  1. Rachel- Yes dried fruit definite no for leay gut and candida - its really hard to digest - its concentrated and lacks the water that ripe fruit does- I know I can't take it at all- which sucks because it is good. I hope you're feeling better. Good that your getting out- I know how you feel though I can't go out for drinks or food and it makes it really...
  2. Rachel- I don't know if this was supposed to be funny- but it got me laughing. I live in New York and they carry them at the whole foods here but no where else. I think the brand is gluten fortitude(s) and I think they have a web site I will try to find it out for you. I tried the lamn again tonight- definitly much better for me than chicken and it...
  3. Floridian- This is my problem I am good at baking but not at keeping track of measurments and so on. The crackers Imake are millet crackers. How do you do with millet? It is one of the only grains I can tolerate. Miamia
  4. Thanks Rachel- I've started making my own crackers and think I ma gonna stick to it plus whole foods carries these casava crackers by gluten fortitiude that I seem to be alright with. The only ingredient in the plain ones is casava pulp. I love things with one or two ingredients!! Miamia
  5. Rachel- It could be cc I have never done very well with brown rice so I thought it could be that. The other thing is we both know now the issue of msg and corn so one of those could be the culprit. It is so hard to know- but I guess the crackers are out. I did the same thing you did though and kept eating them. I think I kind of did not weant to believe...
  6. Rachel- yes these were them. The weir part is when I first found out I had to cut gluten out these were one of the first things I ate and I was fine with them. Then I stopped having them and after being gluten free for a while had them again and got a reaciotn a few months later I tried them again I thought it was what I was putting on them but I realized...
  7. Floridian- I can't believe how calm you sound and god still have good humor. I have so much respect for you!!! I am in New York and all the weather reports seem to be conflicting. When this is passed- and I know it will- I amsending you a care package with some homemade crackers and bagels- Don't worry no guar, xanthium gum of any kind!!! Hang in there and...
  8. Juliem- You obviosly have alot of the same problems I have , wow. Before they diagnosed me withany food allergies I was diagnosed with reflux and esophegeal spasms. I aalways felt like my throat was closing and had so much difficulty swallowing. Doctors thought I was bonkers. They ended up giving me 2 esophogeral dialations to try to stretch my esophogeus...
  9. Oh Rachel- I am sos orrry to hear you had such a terrible reaction. It sounds very similar to the reactions I get from things. I was having mouth blisters to and when I finally started getting more serious about my food diary I was able to pinpoint what was causing them. I hated it becaus eI've had to cut out one of the few things I thought I might be...
  10. Also Gilbere has her own site and ou can read all the articles shes written and so on. It is really informative. I think what I like best about her books as opposed to other sis shes speaking from her own experience not just that of s medical professional its much easier to process. Miamia
  11. I have read it and trhought it was really really informative- I also have leakey gut and have suffered from cadida which the book addresses. I highly recomend it and there is another one of her books as well but I can't remember the name. Miamia
  12. I agree this thread has definitly taken alot of weird turns- Corn, ovaries, MSG, baby pictures. But its amazing the way we all work to figure things out together. I think its great!!! I mean of course there are some things that docotrs are good for I have just had some really bad experiences. I can't do dried fruit at all sulphered or not- its just way...
  13. Rachel- - Doctors are retarted- always always trust your body first. The most frustrating thing I have found about "regular" doctors is they want everyone to fit into some exact typical prototype- forgetting everyone is an individual. And two they want to treat whatever they can with medication- so you never really heal anything you just supress it and...
  14. Rachel- you've already helped people- I know you opened my eyes to things I haden't thought about and also you've started this thread that has allowed all these people who felt so lost at least have a place where there were others who could really relate. - I know for me this has been a huge comfort- Miamia
  15. It helps me to see it all written down too, for myself also. It seems like anything with a lot of pigment gives me some problems.... My doctors have tried to put me on various drugs for my symptoms of pain, arthritis in jaw and neck, splitting headaches, mucus, and head pressure. My depression comes from the pain. There hasnt been a day without pain since...
  16. Calicat- I had to give up dairy that is probally what Ir eact worse too. The hardest thing for me was I love coffee( I know terrible for me) And I used to need half and half in it plus I love ice cream. I kept thinking if I cut it out everywhere but these areas I'de be ok but I wasen't. I have problems with sy so it was not even like I could just switch...
  17. Floridian- The last time I had a bannana I was sick for like 2 days- I had a part of one one day and got sick but didn't think it could be the bannana because I used to eat them without a problem and then when I tried one again I realized that was definitly what it was. I hate because I really want to gain weight and supposedly those are good for that....
  18. I know what everyone means there are so many diets so many "answers" that all swear to ce the one thing that really works. It gets so overwhelming. I guess everyone is different and you just havve to find what works best for you. But I think its pretty obvious we all do best going as simple and ure as possible. I agree with what everyonw was saying starting...
  19. This is all so interesting- I have been unab;e to tolerate most meats at all. I bouhgt these burgers- The only ingredients was organic turkey- and I could not breathe at all after eating part of one. I thought I was insane. I bought chicken and just grilled it plain - and had the same reaction. I definitly have a problem with protein rich foods right now...
  20. thank you guy so much for your support. Its carzy I am not someone who won't stand up for herself but Its just so shocking that you kind of don't have time to react. Ok the tongue rash thing- what is this like for you. I find when I eat something that bothers me my mouth feels cut up- the sides of my mouth and the roof as well. I actually have cuts on...
  21. Oh god- where do I start. As if its not enough that I am in pain most of the time the outward critism I have had to deal with is crazy. People will watch me eat and then try to tell me I'm anoerexic. People at my job tried to have an intervention with me. Meanwhile these people would see me eat. People always say stuff to me when I am walking down the street...
  22. Miamia, Not a silly question. Sometimes it can help a lot to know that you aren't alone, either in your symptoms, or in the severity of the impact on your life. I've had to completely put my life on hold for the time being(withdraw from school, stop working). I haven't had one day of being well since St. Patrick's and before that, the last time I felt...
  23. I have a weird question - how much time do you guys spend uncomfortable? Like what does it keep you from doing? Lately i feel like I am always uncomfortable and I cna;t do much. All my energiy seems to be going into getting better and I miss everything I used to do. Miamia
  24. Rachel and calicat- you guys both sound so simialr to me and I have been reading all your posts but npt answering lately because I have just been so overwhelmed- the corn was one thing but once Is tarted researching the msg factor I think I went into overdrive and just lost it. I decided basically that everything is going to cause a reaction right now because...
