ARCHIVED My Husband Has Been Glutened.....utdan replied to swittenauer's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease I agree, active charcoal could help absorb a lot of the gluten and lessen unnecessary damage. I'm not sure, but the gluten seems to work on me for a week or so, not just the day I ate it. I used something else a few times, liquid bentonite, and it really helped after taking it immediately.

ARCHIVED Social Behavior -add, Aspergers Etc.utdan replied to gfp's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease Rachelle, that about describes my experience perfectly!! I know that I'm not shy or introverted. I love interaction with others. However, I either have trouble getting overloaded with information or with just sorting it appropriately, I can't tell. I know this is directly related to food because eating more vegetables makes it better A question to all...

ARCHIVED Social Behavior -add, Aspergers Etc.utdan replied to gfp's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease Thank you for starting this thread. I can relate with some of what you said, definitely. When I get glutened, or have a real bad reaction to another food, sometimes I do all I can to stay away from anyone/everyone...I can't even stand myself!! If I stop eating all food it takes a lot less time for the symptoms to pass...sometimes 8-12 hrs. Other times...

ARCHIVED "you Might Be A Celiac If....."utdan replied to VegasCeliacBuckeye's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff ...you get really enthusiatic and excited when you find out there might be a convention for people with your food intolerance. ...you've once entertained the thought of moving to China for the only reason that they might use less of a certain food. ...if you've fantasized about a whole city or county or even state becoming absolutely gluten-free by...

ARCHIVED Tremors A Symptom Of Celiac?utdan replied to acousticmom's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease I have little tremors since about Freshman or sophmore year in high school. For me they are more noticeable while applying opposing force in working out. I've only been gluten free for technically 1 month. And I take great encouragement in how some people say they recover after eating gluten-free for awhile. It might be good to know the attack on...

Thanks again Robb, I read the article where it talked about lectins. Lately, I've been so focused on avoiding glutamic acid that I forgot about the lectins. Do know if the lectins can damage the BBB or spinal column? I just read the amino acid profile of milk (I'm not sure denatured or raw) but the main aa was glutamic acid! ARGHH! Is there a protein...

ARCHIVED Glutened Myself Now What?utdan replied to Gwendolene's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms Other food intolerances can mimic gluten reactions. After going gluten free 2 yrs ago I got many of the same reactions from soy and dairy, corn sugar. My guess is that cc causes undue porosity in the gut and big proteins get into the blood that normally don't, and then the immune system responds. Try doing a search on the "specific carbohydrate diet...

ARCHIVED My Psychologist Is Interested In Celiac Connectionutdan replied to Nantzie's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder (social phobia), and moodiness that goes along with eating gluten. The symptoms are better now but haven't be gluten-free long enough. I ate a bite of graham cracker after doctor told me to eat gluten for 3 weeks for making blood test accurate...5 hours later had very bad brain fog.

ARCHIVED Night Terrors/fear/paraoidutdan replied to tiffjake's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease I've had the same type of stuff as you Susan and Nantzie for all my life. It seems that almost anytime I listen to my own thoughts I'm being super critical about myself, but I have gotten a lot better this year with a program I'm doing. Before going gluten free I had real trouble with vivid nightmares for about 6 years, then I learned my older sister was...

ARCHIVED Splendautdan replied to lemonade's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications about aspartame: "glutamate and aspartate are neurotransimitters...found normally in the brain and spinal cord. And even though they are two of the most common transmitter chemicals in the brain and spinal cord, when their concentrations rise above a critical level they can become deadly toxins to the neurons containing glutamate receptors...and to the...

ARCHIVED Splendautdan replied to lemonade's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications This link might help you make your decision: Open Original Shared Link I'm sure you could expect similar results from "Coke Zero" or anything else of that nature. The hard truth is that real sugar produces a lot less trouble than fake sugars. Take, for example, Corn syrup--another man-made sweetner made of abnormal concentrations of fructose (fruit...

Hey all, thank you for your posts. Sorry I took so long to respond. Thank you Tiffany, that's very helpful:). I'll have to check out those protein bars, and do myself a favor and prepare some stuff to stock the fridge. That detail on the HB eggs is good because I could never cook them to where the shell comes of easily. Robb, ...

ARCHIVED Liver Cause Of Celiac Did Anyone See This Site?!utdan replied to Webcrystal's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease I was raised by a father that was a chiropractor and my mother who was a registered nurse. I got balanced look at both worlds of allopathic and alternative medicine. One would be unwise to just hold to just one or the other as they balance eachother out with their strengths and weaknesses. My parents used judgement in hearing experiences from trusted friends...

Has anyone had a complete liver panel done and came up with a low alpha-1-antitrypsin level? Normal range is from a 100-200 and I came up at 90. I wanted to see if there was a connection with celiac disease or if anyone had any experiences or advice. Thanks

Thank you for your reply Ursula, I appreciate that. For me that is extremely valuable information because a lot of my symptoms are neurological in nature as you can see in my signature. I've been trying to find out where the three killers are "glutamate, cysteine, aspartate" since I read that "Excitotoxins" by Blaylock. I'm sorry to hear that soy is so bad...

ARCHIVED Ttg And Negative Biopsyutdan replied to a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms I've had spotty sensitivity to gluten as well but recently I was going to get a tTG test and had to eat a little gluten. I only opened myself up to a little contamination and took a bite off a graham cracker. I didn't have much bowel trouble but I did have an a lot of brain fog and confusion. My tests for Antidemysial antibody came up 0.4 (positive = 7) and...

Does anyone know of a gluten-free (and hopefully MSG free) protein powder supplement or meal replacement? I called a few manufacturers and they assured me there was no gluten but I still get a little reaction. Getting back into working out I tried so far "Muscle Milk" by CytoSport, and now "IsoPure" by Nature's Best. I realize that ideally I should be cooking...

It is addictive. Today I came on here just to ask a question about a supplement and then I had to stop to read the new posts. Then I had to check up on the threads that I've participated in or started and reply. Before I know it way too much time has gone by! But I agree that it is time well spent.

ARCHIVED Speed The Repairing Of The Gut?utdan replied to utdan's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease Thank you, I'll be interested to know.

Thank you for that link, good job on finding that! You want to go on a mission? Wow, that's a big sacrifice, and good for you:). You're right, I didn't so much as know I was allergic to anything, let alone gluten in 97-99. I suppose you know the qualifications for going on a mission are a bit more stringent now so I hope you can go. On the realistic...

ARCHIVED Speed The Repairing Of The Gut?utdan posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease uh, actually I want to read your thoughts I just decided to do a Bernard Jensen 7-day bowel cleanse program. My doctor in L.A. (who looked really healthy to begin with) just did one and he showed me pictures of the--"mucoid plaque." Anyway, I found a certified hydrotherapist who counseled me (since I'm a newly recovering celiac) to take a product called...

ARCHIVED Idea - How About A gluten-free Conventionutdan replied to Nantzie's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff I have a question, is everyone trying to meet at an existing convention like the University of Baltimore or trying to create a new convention? Who would organize it?
