  1. There are seemingly never ending debates over where disease starts and where it could be cured. One thing is sure...no one knows for sure what exactly goes on fully 100%. That said, I'll throw in something some may find boring and some interesting: A newly minted Ph.d. researcher had an inspiration about the cause of lung cancer in smokers. In smokers...
  2. I love medicine, I'm a scientist at heart:D I don't know if I could afford the extra 4 years and residency though. I'm pursuing accounting right now since this is 2nd top program in the country and I love business as well. Things are great here, our ward just went down to a lake on Saturday and goofed off. I was english speaking actually as 90% of them...
  3. You're right Mango04. They just called me back and went over the list of ingredients with me. I had so hoped it would be gluten-free...
  4. The red school huh? That would be our rivals . I hear they have great medical program though. Do you know what you're going into? Yes I'm an rm of the , Florida Orlando Mission.
  5. I just posted something here and then I saw the "teenagers only section." sorry.
  6. I correct my own post. Its a ginger chicken salad, not a casserole. Thank you Patti, I should have clicked on that . I called them and guess what they did...they called the same store that I went to in person that couldn't give me an answer! The deli person said to me "most ginger type dressings don't contain gluten, but that that particular store...
  7. Annissara, I feel for your 6 yr old! But much better now than later for her. Yeah, I can't relate to raising children yet but I can imagine that keeping everthing seperate and safe would be nerve racking. JustJane, what a coincidence I just posted a reply to your new thread :-). So you're going to U of U or BYU slc? I'm in provo going to the Y right now...
  8. I'm no expert on celiac yet but I just wanted to say Welcome! I wish I had known I was celiac at 19!
  9. This is a revision of a post I did yesterday because I tend to think outside the box sometimes...please read the following with a grain of salt. I visited a competant NAET certified chiropractor and somehow using my energy field or subconscious brain he normalized my thyroid hormones and my symptoms disappeared. If that sounds like it came out of a comic...
  10. I talked to someone in person at the store. I checked the albertson's website and they didn't have a link for emailing them. Can you give me their contact info? Thanks for responding.

    ARCHIVED Introduction

I don't know if you read the article I mentioned but the author ventured a guess that the cause of the Fibromylagia was a dysfunctional liver, and that the liver doesn't get diagnosed because of inadequate testing protocols. He says that the toxins build up in the fat, get inflamed, irritate the nerves, and the inflammation can push itself into the joint...
  12. I used to eat it and it was soo delicious. They looked up the ingredients in their list but it wasn't very specific about what kind of vinegar they used. Anyone know if it's safe?

    ARCHIVED Applebee's

Yeah, big business and restaurant chains speak the language of money. I think that convention thread is a great idea. That could turn into the springboard for us to organize ourselves into one body with a powerful voice that will change the policies of Restaurant Franchises for their manager's/employee training.
  14. This is really great! One of the best ideas I've seen on this forum.
  15. I would go hungry until I found something gluten-free I could eat. Of course, I can't say what I would do in not eating for 4-5 days because I've never been there. I don't see a situation like that happening though with the abundance of fruits and vegetables and nuts around.
  16. I'm O- and so is both my parents and siblings. I suspect my dad had celiac.
  17. Yes, it's nice to know that you're not alone. Thanks guys. Though, it seems strange doesn't it? If 1 in every 133 people have it on average...why aren' t more on this website?

Thanks Robb for your advice. I had another question for my friend who has fibromylagia. A recent celiac.com "scott-free" news article explained a treatment for the condition. It is to supplement Olestra into the diet which then absorbs the toxins. The author gave two options: eat 2-3 ounces of fat free potatoe chips containing olestra or just supplement...
  19. I was wondering if the "gluten guard" was the best or is there something else better? Thanks
  20. Am I the only Utah person here?
  21. We're in the same boat. I'm currently a college student (although 30), just Dx myself 2 years ago and was having the exact same conversations with myself as what you put in this thread. I also experienced minimal bad effects most of the time immediately following a meal. But since I didn't find out until 28 yrs old I had suffered sore knees, worthless gym...
  22. When I get glutened I found something extremely useful: Hydrated Bentonite and Psyllium Husk taken together. I recommend get it from here: Open Original Shared Link The company produces very high quality products. The Bentonite is a super absorber used for people suffering from toxin release in bowel cleansing. The Psyllium Husk must be taken together...

Welcome Rob! I'm 30 and am starting to workout again after a few years. I'm probably not 100% healed in my gut from recent gluten contamination. My question is there any difference between cooking up salmon and other meats versus getting most of my protein from a brand supplement (I'm using "Muscle Milk" right now). Is there any advantage for muscle building...
  24. I have all three myself. I've found websites saying that malabsorbtion of nutrients could have created the neurological illnesses. I think that's only part of the answer though. I've tried to come up with my own possible connections and have been looking at "excitotoxins" like the glutamate, cysteine, and aspartate that can mess with the protective blood...
  25. I've had problems with various spaghetti sauces in general (I don't remember Classico specifically). I don't know if this is true but I've heard that some food allergies come only in combinations. For instance a person may be able to eat peaches, oranges, and strawberries just fine by themselves but combine them and the person reacts.
