Well, either way, you feel better, right? That's a huge something, don't you think?
Also, the small intestine is ~22ft long, there may be damage further down the line that the endoscope missed.
Or, you might just be intolerant, which is about the same as Celiac, only without the damage. There are plenty of people on here that have had negative biopsies but have had tremendous improvement with the diet.
Other benefits of not having confirmed celiac:
*You don't have the huge risk of cancer if it goes untreated
*No trouble getting health insurance because of dx
*Probably won't pass it along to your children
"Smile, it increases your face value"

So when I hear that 83% of women experience a miscarriage, it makes me EXTREMELY nervous.
Congratulations! All you can do is make sure to eat right, take care of yourself, and make sure you're getting enough vitamins.
Miscarriages are awful, but it's nature's way of stopping something that's going wrong in the pregnancy. Also, if you look at the statistics, most people don't have a problem getting pregnant again.
Hope everything goes well for you, and congrats again!

Also my worst nightmare! I actually had a dream that I ate a bowl of fruit loops last night and had a mid-dream panic attack!
Hopefully cgilsing is right and it won't be so bad since you spit most of it out
I'm glad that I don't like beer, and that a good margarita is gluten free

Here's what I found for the Pliva info:
(800) 922-0547 Tel
customer.service@plivainc.com
Here's the contact info page:
Open Original Shared Link
Also, they'll need to know which dosage you're on and if they're the tabs or caplets.
Hope that helps!

I have that kind of thing too, and I'm also on an anti-spaz, though I try to take it only if I need it. I would guess that you're not totally healed yet, and your body has to figure out how to be normal again. If you went through having constant D for years, it may take longer than expected to get back to normal. I'm right there with you!
Normalcy is coming!
And you probably need to eat a bit more, it will help your body to normalize with a more balanced and complete diet.

Welcome to the board!
I'm new at this, but I've found this site necessary for survival! Everyone on here is so great!

Chelse thanks for the tip. I knew I would be taking this antibiotic so I got plenty of probiotics ahead of time. So I should be ok (hopefully) with that. I cant do yogurt cuz I'm off dairy right now.
If you can have soy, Silk has a new "yogurt" that has active cultures in it, and it might feel good on your tummy

Party days at school are always WILD!! The kids are super hyped up for the party, the teachers are worn out from the hyped up kids!! It is easy for accidents to happen on those days.
If you can't volunteer, how about having your kid wear a special shirt or hat on party days to help flag the child for the crazed teachers? The hat thing would be especially helpful if the school rule is no hats allowed and she got special permission, then they couldn't miss her. Otherwise a crazy bright shirt might help.

Don't forget to eat lot's of yogurt...I can only imagine what an antibiotic of that strength would do to your digestive tract, not to mention the lady parts
That might be part of the tummy problems, it's killing off your good bacteria, too

The reality is, that you usually have to do quite a bit of paraphrasing in translating, and a computer is simply not programmed (or able, or both) to do that.
Yeah, I should have mentioned that, I just got so used to fixing the translation when I did homework that I forgot. It works best if you're translating from the other language to english, because then it's easier to figure out what they meant in the other language.

You know what the dumb thing about this lawsuit, well, one of the dumb things, is that McDonald's food is CRAP!
You can't get an ulcer from an isolated incident with a kid size fry...
So she's suing because she repeatedly fed her sickly child with fast food french fries? Dum-bass.
Maybe her health insurance should sue her for making her child sick
-
I've read that remembering your dreams isn't a good thing. You dream in REM, and if you remember your dreams you were pulled out of REM abruptly. Therefore, you're not as well rested because the sleep cycle was interrupted at the same time.

I just took this yesterday and I got sooooo sick from it. I don't think it was because of gluten though, it didn't feel like I was glutened. But it made me throw up, alot! I heaved almost continually for three hours, I had to go to the doctor to get a shot to stop throwing up. It was a terrible experience. If I never see this stuff again it will be too soon! I'm not saying you shouldn't take it, it just didn't agree with me.
Maybe it was the overdose of vitamins? I know my tummy can't handle large doses of vitamins at all

Looks safe. Does the label contain the universal disclaimer "processed in a facility that also processes wheat products?"
Nope, Ovaltine is very shelf stable and not that popular so it'll probably take a while to get their inventory cleared out enough to have an allergy statement on there
No allergy statement at all, but I looked at the malt ones to compare labeling, and they had parentheses around things like whey (milk) and malt (barley), so maybe they label that way, too?

Then there's the comment "He's lucky to have you for a wife. Most women wouldn't have stayed in a marriage where the husband was sickly." I've had people think they are doing me a favor & tell me to actually leave and divorce him due to his illness. Telling me I am young enough to start over again.
I am perpetually amazed by the shallowness of people
Each day, I wake up with a renewed faith in humanity. And then I get out of bed...
And celiac isn't that big of a deal as a disease really, it's not terminal cancer or AIDS or ALS or any one of the horrific diseases there are out there. People would get divorced over not being able to eat at red lobster?!?!
I'm not undermining celiac, I just think we're all really lucky, because it could always be worse.
I'm glad my husband was there at the beginning of my illness and married me anyway, sickness and worse can happen

I'm finding some conflicting information about our friend Ovaltine...
I know the malt and chocolate malt are obviously a no, but what about the Rich Chocolate flavor? I thought I saw somewhere it was gluten-free...
I thought it would be good for getting extra vitamins, since I have a lot of trouble taking vitamins. Also, it's my ultimate comfort drink since that's what my mom gave me when I couldn't sleep
That and it's yummy
Here are the ingredients:
sugar, cocoa processed with alkali, whey (milk), salt, carrgeenan, mono and diglycerides, artificial flavor, colored with yellow 6, red 40, and blue 1
Vitamins and minerals: magnesium oxide, dicalcium phosphate, high chromium yeast, ascorbic acid, ferric orthophosphate, vitamin E acetate, copper glutonate, zinc sulfate, niacinamide, vitamin A palmitate, calcium pantothenate, pryidoxine hydrochloride, thiamine hydrochloride, biotin
Anyone know anything about it? Much appreciated

I was heavy all through my teens, and then I got sick my second year of college. Since I was only Dx about 1.5 months ago, I didn't realize the food really was making me sick!
I used to eat and within an hour it was out (D). I would be in such pain in the dorm bathroom, I would just think, "Well, I am losing weight." It made it bearable.
That's me! Second year of college and everything! I don't know how I'm going to deal with not having D all of the time because for so long my thinking was, "well, at least it's making me lose weight". Not healthy.
It also doesn't help when dr's tell you it's all in your head, or that you're too stressed out, or whatever.
Hang in there, you've got a lot of support!

I haven't had a problem with their Santitas chips. They have both yellow and white corn. They only come in one flavor, and they have three ingredients:
Corn, vegetable oil, salt
They were my favorite before, but I'm in love with them now
-
I know I've said this before, but it's time for the McDonald's PR guy to find a new job. Idiot.
And people love to sue McDonald's for all kinds of stupid stuff. Cases in point:
-Parents to lazy to cook meals for their children have obese children who will eat nothing but double cheeseburgers
-Woman stupid enough to put "WARNING: CONTENTS MAY BE HOT" coffee inbetween her legs and got burned
It all kind of hit the fan for McDonalds this week....

Are you in Texas, too?
Lollie
Yep, Austin. I feel blessed to live in the one city in Texas where there are a ton of health nuts (thanks, Lance) and therefore a lot of healthfood stores, not to mention the landmark store for whole foods
-
Now here is where being open-minded might cause problems: I don't think it is a waste of money. Just because I cannot have wheat, does not mean it would not be a good thing for someone else. I would like to see more research money put into celiac disease and such, though.
I agree, there's worse ways to spend money. Wheat is good for most people, just not us
Well, good for people in a whole grain form...
Though I do miss fruit loops

Anyone know anything about Mentadent?
-
I avoid all meats that have hormones, basically I only buy my meat from the Central Market or Whole Foods-I cook it immidiately, too.
A little off topic, but...
Lollie-
You must be in either central or east Texas to have both of those options! I find that I feel like I'm being ripped off at Central Market, because many of the same things are available and cheaper at HEB...
...and HEB clearly sends all of their GOOD produce to Central Market
-
I'm still really psyched about the blood sugar seeming to even out, never expected that!
I was actually expecting it to get worse without having whole wheat whatevers...
And my mood, hot dang!
(DH appreciates that one!)
I get to shop in Whole Foods and Central Market now, where DH wouldn't let me go because I'm too much of a foodie to not get in trouble

Personally, as a southern trained cook, I don't use a thermometer for my frying. I set my electric stovetop to about a 6 with shortening and that's perfect for frying chicken-fried steak (gonna have to figure out how to make that gluten-free
)
Anyhoo, without a thermometer, I would just drop a tiny bit of batter into hot oil to test. If it doesn't bubble and either gets glogged up with oil or stays mushy, it's not hot enough. If it's incinerated as soon as it hits the oil and your house is smoky, it's too hot.
Good luck with calling all of your professionals
