  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. Thanks for all the info! I called the restaruant, and they went over all the things I could eat there. I already have my own tamari sauce, so I'll just bring that. Hopefully I won't gag on the sushi =)
  3. I just found out that I'm going to be meeting a friend for dinner @ a sushi restaurant next week. She knows about my celiac and picked this restaurant because she thought that I could get something there. So, sushi's just fish, rice, and seaweed, so it should be okay right? I've never had sushi before, so I really don't know much about it (I actually...
  4. My cousin's 3 boys lived with me and my parents for a few months while she was in Iraq. While they were with us, I had the boys tested through enterolab, and all 3 of them tested positive for the celiac gene and two of them tested positive for gluten intollerance, soy allergy, dairy intollerance, and corn allergy. They all did so well on this diet that the...
  5. I hope Emmie's feeling better today! Gatorade helps me the best when I'm dehydrated.
  6. Me too! It's actually starting to worry me
  7. I wish I knew how to help with your dad. My dad's the same way. He has the same symptoms as I do, and he knows that since I have 2 copies of the celiac gene that one must have come from him (my mom was recently tested, and was negative). I think he knows deep down that he has it, but he doesn't want to admit it to himself. He is addicted to gluten. I have...
  8. Courtney, I've been gluten-free for about 10 months, and I still have brain fog. I am so spacy sometimes that it drives me crazy! I have only been this way for the past few years. But, I have an excuse for being an airhead... I'm blonde. Danielle
  9. I'm glad that Megan's doing well! I love the picture of them all dressed up; they are so cute!
  10. Red Robin is awesome! I work at one, and so I get to see exactly what goes on in the kitchen. They are very knowledgable about cc issues and will prepare everything using clean grills and deticated fryers (I made sure to educate them!). They will prepare your burger away from the buns, etc. I eat there all the time, and I always get the Vegetarian Red's...
  11. So I'm normal after all!! I guess I am greiving the loss of foods that I had eaten for 20+ years. You kind of grow attached to things after that long! I made a nice gluten-free cake this morning, and the boys and I have been pigging out on it all day! It was so good (yes, was; it's gone now!)! I agree that I should focus on what I can have as opposed...
  12. The classic white flour thing I hope you don't get sick.
  13. 1. How long have you known you’ve had Coeliac Disease and what is your age (age-optional)? I was diagnosed 9.5 months ago, but I've been sick since I was a young child. I'm 21 now 2. Is it hard to cope with this condition? At times. At first I had no problems, but I've recently hit a rough patch. 3. Do you understand what is wrong and what it’s...
  14. Wow, that's a lot of juice!! The boys are only allowed juice (watered down) on special occasions. Other than that, they only drink water and/or rice milk. I don't see the need to add juice to their diets, plus they eat plenty of fresh fruit, which I think is healthier. I know what you mean about seeing young kids drinking juice and soda from bottles...
  15. I'm so happy that Megan's doing better!
