  10. This is great info Andrea. I had been following an adrenal healing program for a little while, my acupuncturist suggested I read the book of one of his collegues, Dr Swartzbein (sp?) I believe she is an endocrinologist. She has a lot of the same ideas, the only thing is she suggested that we eat fruit to get off the sugar. I haven't read the book (the...
  11. Well, my explanation was lacking scientificness I guess I am a little brain fogged or something today, can't think of all of the information regarding the adrenals and sugar and reactions..... I would definitely try to go for sugars in small amounts, natural sugars included. I think when the blood sugar spikes there is a whle other set of issues...
  12. Morgan Now you know we are going to have to hold you to this.... I eat fruit to replace sugar. Also, once in a while, I will have some raw honey if I need to have something sweet, I'll mix a little in some almond butter.
  13. From what I understand, this is where the adrenals come into play. Sugars, refined, cause a spike in adrenaline and our nervous systems get all wacked out. Apparently, histamine reactions cause a depletion in our adrenaline supply as it is, so the if you eat sugar you are really stressing the adrenals and the body. Natural sugars don't do this, in...
  14. Yay, the B girls are back, and in rare form at that Sorry you are still sick Carla, feel better soon. Morgan, I also understand Racheling the sugar. I just can't handle sugar well at all, when I eat it I want more of it, so I try to stay away from it as much as I can. I know, better said than done-- especially when you find something so yummy, it's...
  15. Oh great! Now they are messing with the rice, just what I needed to hear. Hi everybody! Judy, I ditto what everyone else said, bring up whatever you want Rachel, what you say makes a lot of sense. The info I found did say that the DAO enzyme that degraded dietary histamine was a copper functioning enzyme, and if these other factors and...
  16. I don't exactly know what drag racing is either, I am thinking the smaller cars, go-cart thingys, and you drive really fast?? Molly, sounds like you are going to have a very busy year. Stop in when you can Karen, your twins are adorable!! Great picture. Andrea, how I would love to get in the car and to just happen to wind up in Vancouver
  17. Well, it was what I was thinking for the pelvic/abdominal pain that you were having for such long stretches of time (even when you weren't ovulating). Here is something interesting I found about endometriosis and immunity/environmental chemicals: Endometriosis is a puzzling and sometimes debilitating disease that affects millions of women...

  24. I always suspected endometriosis for you Rachel! When I looked into the cyst issue for you, endometriosis was something that always came up. From what I understand, you don't necessarily have to have excruciating pain with it- most people do, but as we all know there are exceptions to the rule in every case. I read that even some women are symptom free...
  25. Rachel, Of course having kids is at the top of my life list as well, but it seemed funny to put it under rock climbing and learning to sew! I am taking a Salsa aerobics class at the gym, so that counts as learning salsa I guess Sort of? I also want to add to my list: Learn more camera/photography skills Take dancing lessons (maybe...
