  1. I don't have any, either........fortunately, cause with persistent symptoms, I already have my hands full.
  2. Yeah, I've tried that cake.......it's quite good and I had the lactose-free recipe since I thought I should avoid the dairy at the time.........(it was the beginning of the gluten-free diet for me and they say dairy can be harsh on you at the start).......I bet it tastes 10 times better with milk and stuff.
  3. The Quaker Rice Cakes (or they might call them Quaker Corn Cakes......I think that's it).....regular-sized are gluten-free...all flavors (cheddar cheese, pb, buttered popcorn, etc.)...just don't get the mini cakes and I don't know about these Quaker snacks you mention.
  4. January of this year (pre-gluten-free): 5' and 70 pounds (around my 13th b-day) Summer of this year (gluten-free): 5'1" and 80 pounds Good that I gained 10 pounds......not good cause I'm supposed to be really growing around age 13-14........and I'm in the same percentile for weight
  5. Yes......your body, before going gluten-free, is so used to the gluten that your reactions aren't as severe......when you go gluten-free, if you get glutened, your body would react more violently, not being used to the gluten, anymore.
  6. You need to call.....some tea has gluten.....but Lipton's teabags are fine...........
  7. I used to weigh myself daily -- when I started eating gluten-free -- but that was cause I was desparate to see improvement, even if just two tenths of a pound gained on the digital scale......I haven't weighed myself in weeks and have no desire to see that I've remained the same or lost half a pound.
  8. Well, it's better than just using the same toaster, but for $10 you could make things a lot safer and reduce the risk of contamination
  9. I knew about Hormel, but thank you for that Atkins list.....I eat Genisoy bars, but would like to try some others.......thanks, I'll be printing this. The selection of gluten-free products and bars is amazing......this is great.......thanks again.....I never thought that they would have that much to choose from.
  10. It's good that she's happy and developing normally. You're not a bad parent at all. First off, for you to find out about celiac disease and ask the doctor to run bloodwork for it was great of you to find. Second, you tried the gluten-free diet instead of saying "oh, it'll just be a pain to try". Third, if your child had bloodwork after going on the gluten...
  11. I don't have and never had any.......but celiacs often develop aversions to food not because of weight, but because of what food has done to them and how celiac disease and gluten-containing food have given them both physiological and psychological.....symptoms.....depression, abdominal pain, diarrhea......I think that could turn anyone away from food......
  12. Yes....they do have that policy and yes, their marshmallows are gluten-free
  13. I'm the only one, too......... .......you're not alone in that regard
  14. Oh, good......I had never checked my shampoo and I have Suave at home....thanks
  15. Spices can have gluten so you need to call the company........unless of course, they're in a product made by a company like Kraft; one that clearly labels gluten. Sorry you had a bad day.....and too bad that the kitchen staff isn't more understanding of celiac disease
  16. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Both are gluten-free
  17. As a baby I never breastfed, but I had problems with my first formula, too; projectile vomiting. I had to have some special formula like the one above.....just thought I'd share
  18. Thank you so much for all your thoughts and prayers........I'll think of you on the 14th, Stacie......and I'll think of all of you thinking of me on the thirteenth
  19. I don't know.........maybe not enough savory, although I'll always welcome another sweet product I don't really eat hot puddings...I've never been a big cake person.......so if you made a sweet product, maybe a pastry or chilled dessert. I think people just make their own sandwiches, there are already good pastas....I would...
  20. I was just sort of thinking about this and I guess doing what's right for your health isn't all that much about motivation -- a lot of it is just....doing it cause it's that or purposely messing up your body....I mean, my motivation for being as much of a paranoid nutcase about gluten is to feel better, but I think whether or not you have motivation, it's...
  21. Motivation - Generally, doing what's best for my health - My desire to feel normal again (and know what normal feels like) - Wanting to put on a 10-20 pounds (way down on the list below not getting sick, but still a goal) Enthusiasm - Trying a new and delicious gluten-free food - Posting -- makes me feel like I have support from others, control...
  22. Thank you! .....I've been kinda depressed today with the whole symptoms thing, but it brought a smile to my face to see that post .....it's nice to know that you have so many people supporting you. Thanks; I appreciate it.
  23. Just stay away from specialty foods.......go through your grocery store and find all the foods that are gluten-free........rice, potatoes, veggies, some canned goods, etc. There are a lot of mainstream products, but it helps to know brand names going into it.....FritoLays, Hormel, Oscar Mayer, etc. and find out what products by each are gluten-free if possible...
  24. September 13
  25. And the symptoms continue.....for the fifth day in a row, I have felt stomach twinges, which sometimes escalate and then subside.......noises from my stomach when the pains get worse..........so glad I have the endo. soon to find out what else is wrong with me -- it doesn't seem possible that all this is celiac disease symptoms continuing while my intestines...
