  1. I don't use one, but probably should...I just haven't thought about it in awhile. Even if a doctor did look at it and think "it's just an allergy", they would have to take it seriously. What if this wheat "allergy" caused a severe and potentially deadly reaction? They wouldn't know the severity of the reaction it would cause, but if you're wearing a bracelet...
  2. I don't know...........I hadn't heard of that.........
  3. I thought I remembered reading some article that mentioned a celiac dog......i guess that could've been a wheat allergy..........sorry, i don't remember the details too well. LOL
  4. A few FAQs on Ben and Jerrys:
  5. I was afraid of getting that reaction from Kraft...........I explained in my e-mail that I was aware of that policy............too bad. As for Heinz and Hormel, I didn't bother to check the FAQs; I just had one e-mail that I copied into every e-mail form and sent off -- it was faster that way. Thanks for the info., though
  6. The tootsie gluten-free list....remember all products are subject to ingredient change:
  7. Ugg...it's also good that you are unhappy to be back on the gluten diet. Now when you go back you won't miss those foods anymore. I can't imagine going back on gluten, especially at this point -- just to eat that stuff would require great willpower for me. Good luck.
  8. Today I didn't have much to do so I thought of a few brand names and shot out e-mails for gluten-free products. I'll list the companies I contacted below. I already got one reply, from Tootsie (makers of Tootsie products, charm products, cambridge brands, and cella confections). They sent me their list in word document format....if anyone wants their list...
  9. Charlotte, When you make a post in a forum, the post won't be on the first page. It will actually go near the back of the section. Once a moderator reads your post and makes sure it's in the right section, he or she will pin the topic, thereby moving it to the front of the section. Here is your lost post: Open Original Shared Link -celiac3270
  10. I never heard of Snapple-A-Day........I drink Ensure to get more calories, vitamins, protein, fat, etc., but if Snapple-A-Day has great health benefits, is gluten-free, and tastes good, I might try that. Thanks for posting.
  11. Interesting idea...........I've thought of reducing my diet to nothing and building slowly to look for problems..........that's a good idea for you to do that...........I'm going to give it a few more months, though, and if I still feel bad and the doctor doesn't know what to do, I might try that. Good luck and good idea . -celiac3270
  12. I completely agree with you on the last two possibilites.....I don't know about coffee. If you've only been gluten-free for two weeks, that could be the culprit, regardless of whether you have a casein/lactose/dairy problem or not. I think the last suggestion might be the most likely. Our digestive systems are raw from all the gluten, and we need to be...
  13. Yep...the one other celiac that goes to my school has the vomit and be done" reaction.
  14. Wow, kvandorselaer.........3 years?!?! And I think six months is a long time. Sorry it took you that long, but thanks for sharing that. I will be seeing my doctor this week.....my mom wants to ask him about possible problems.......gallbladder as Karen sugested, ulcers? I don't know much about these, but maybe the doctor could tell me. Thanks for...
  15. I should probably also mention that I'm using Prilosec OTC, not the prescription. The doctor fully realized that it was 20 mg. and recommended the dosage of two daily. I'm going back to him, this week, I think, cause he goes on vacation at the end of the week, so I can double check on that. Perhaps, on the over-the-counter version they try to be more cautious...
  16. Alexolua, under the directions, it says: Adults 18 years or older and then stuff about once a day, it may take 1-4 days to feel relief, though some feel better in 24 hours, etc. Probably the reason I was scared of it was because I weigh so little, anyway. The doc. does know my weight, though, so I guess he should've taken that into account.
  17. Right..........I forgot about that.....good point
  18. Indeed, a lot of pet foods do contain gluten........wash your hands after handling pet food, even if you don't think you came into direct contact with it.
  19. Just stick with it, HappyCat, I'm doing the same thing and I've still got problems and Stacie (jhmom) has had symptoms over a year, I think. When I started, I thought it would be a quick three months, but apparently not. You just need to work with your doctor, run lots of tests, make sure you're doing everything right, experiment with cutting out certain...
  20. I don't have any sleep problems, but do enjoy having the fan on when I fall asleep. I usually wake up early (6-7 AM) and fall asleep like clockwork at 10:30. Usually the entire family is watching TV (the olympics, lately), and I have my head back on the pillow and my eyes get heavy. During school I don't fall asleep to the TV, but the fan would still be...
  21. Kinnickinick has a great bread. I used to use Ener-G, but Kinnickinick breads are one step up. Foods By George producs are amazing -- the brownies are free of virtually everything: gluten, casein, dairy, lactose, soy, etc. Their english muffins are probably the best product they have. I've also tried, with satisfaction, their corn and blueberry muffins...
  22. You might be doing something wrong like Karen suggested..........or you might be doing absolutely everything right. I have called every company for everything and I'm still having problems after over six months. I know that toothpastes are gluten-free, I don't use lotions, I called about Prilosec, I'm doing everything right. I have no other food allergies...
  23. Karen: My mom wrote down your gallbladder suggestion and she'll ask the doctor about that next time we see him. Thanks to both of you for replying. -celiac3270
  24. I actually haven't tried the apple juice, cause I know it can be kinda heavy on the stomach. The main sugar thing my doctor wanted me to stay away from was the sugar in certain high-sugar fruits like watermelon and grapes. The skin of apples wasn't too good for me, he said, either. Bananas are okay, he said, but I haven't had any fruit since my sugar-limited...
