  1. I'm glad our queenly Julie is back. Julie, your little king turns 1 on Tuesday.....same day Rhonda talks to her doctor. I can't wait for either one of them!
  2. That's true Patti. I forgot about the basting. That would definately be a problem.
  3. If I remember correctly I was searching for gluten intolerance info. I found celiac.com and later clicked on the message board. Can't get me off of here now.
  4. Testing is not fun but I think waiting for the results is much harder. Hope you get some answers.
  5. I don't know that I would want to risk it. Seems to me that gluten on the hands would transfer to the bird while it is being stuffed.
  6. Will do Jenny. It always hard to change doctors....especially if you like the one you have.
  7. It is entirely possible. If you want an official dx you need to stay on gluten. The blood work can get thrown out of wack quite easily. If you go gluten free and symptoms don't resolve you would need to look at other things. Usually gluten, then dairy and soy are the top problem foods. Tinkyada makes wonderful pasta so you won't miss pasta at all...
  8. Laura you already posted in a newer post. I was going to say dq 3,1 (subtype 8,5).....you already found that. I don't know about these either. Rachel, your first allele is like one of mine so I know that. DQ 3,1 (subtype 7,5) Some quotes I have. I think both are from the parent site. I know the second one is.
  9. From what I've been reading this morning (here), it would seem likely that those with neurological manifestations of gluten intolerance have the dq1 gene. It wouldn't surprise me if this became another known celiac gene. Laura, To find out your other gene you would need to do the enterolab gene test. As far as I know they are the only ones that test...
  10. I haven't organized them yet and I probably missed some in the beginning of the lyme postings . I love numbers and if I could balance all your guys's checkbooks I'd be in my element. I used to balance the banks bank accounts at the S&L I worked for before kids. That's almost the only thing I miss about work. That only took about 2-3 days and that...
  11. I'll get them typed up and copied over tomorrow. I haven't tried most of them but I'll pull from different books so you can pick and choose.
  12. She hadn't been camping yet last time she posted here. She comes home next month so hopefully she'll be a regular again.
  13. Kathy Ann, I do have vegan recipes I can post. They will not be like your regular condiments though. Let me know if you are interested.
  14. As far as your numbers I believe that enterolab says it doesn't really matter if you score 10 or 350. It still means gluten free according to them. You have an autoimmune reaction as noted by the ttg being over 10. You have mild malabsorption. This could be caused by gluten or dairy. If you eat soy, that could also cause problems. The dq1 genes...
  15. Why does this not surprise me. Another link added to my favorites. I haven't read it though. I need to create a lyme folder with all the links you guys have provided.
  16. For those who want to see the numbers together for Rachel and Rhonda. Rachel /Rhonda IgM Western Blot /my numbers for the IgG: 18 kDa. neg /18 kDa neg. 22 kDa. neg /22 kDa neg. **23-25 neg /**23-25 kDa neg. 28 kDa. neg /28 kDa neg. 30 kDa. + /30 kDa neg. ** 31 kDa neg /**31 kDa IND. **34 kDa. IND /**34 kDa IND. **39 kDa. IND /*...
  17. Laura, I think it would be a good idea. When do you see the natural medicine doctor?
  18. Rachel, That looks positive enough for me. Rhonda, What are your numbers. Laura, Are you going to get tested for Lyme?
  19. Let's give a cheer for perseverance, determination and the knowledge/learning that comes from bouncing things off of each other. I'm so happy all you guys can start forward to treatment and better health.
  20. If he has the dq2 gene and he already has a slightly elevated IgA, it is just a matter of time (who knows how long) before it would manifest into full blown celiac. I would consider him at the beginning of it, without much (if any) damage. Although his ttg is just at the positive mark with the dq2 gene I would assume that means he's started toward celiac...
  21. Reaction times can vary from pretty quick to 1 day, maybe even 2. He needs to be willing to do the diet and understand what he's doing by eating gluten. I would think that if he gets sick enough, often enough that he would be more willing to stay on the diet. I don't like to wish the discomfort of glutening on anyone but I do hope he will learn from...
  22. Aww, Thanks guys. I still believe I'm learning all this for a reason.....just don't know which one yet. Could be I'll be dealing with something like this in my family......could be someone I meet someday. Either way, I'll always be thankful for the friends, support and knowledge of this little community we've built. My pastors wife called...
  23. I'll be the cheerleader as best I can with the lyme clan. I seriously doubt I have it unless I've gotten it from fleas. I know with not being chronically ill that I don't understand everything, but I do try. Love you guys.
  24. Makes sense to me. It would seem to be a matter of what causes what. In your case I would tend to believe that the lyme triggered your gluten reaction. That could very well be the case for other dq1's out there too.
  25. Julie, I'm so glad you asked her about it. I don't know how I would feel in your guy's shoes but I'm assuming it's a relief just to know so you can go forward with treatment and feeling/getting better. Can I ask an ignorant question.......what does that mean?
