  1. Ya, I have been on 2.5 mg of Lexapro daily for a couple years now. I tried 5mg but it was too much and put me into orbit mentally. The good and the bad...let's start with the good. SSRIs have the potential to substantially raise mood in a large percentage of people who take them. It's quite possible you will be one of those folks and that lexapro...
  2. Since I'm not that much of a bread person, I suspect that I've never eaten that much gluten in my life. Potentially why I've never been diagnosed. Most of what I've consumed is likely in breading and sauces etc... Thanks for your response.
  3. Hi, hope everyone is doing well. I leave for an Alaska cruise in two days. After 4 days of being totally (as much as I can tell) gluten-free, my chronic diarrhea, loose stools and heartburn are completely gone. I mean I have had chronic heartburn for 10 years, so this is pretty stunning after 4 days... I've decided that I'd like a diagnosis, at...
  4. One of the things I notice gluten-free is that I'm much more alert. Interesting that the AD I'm on could never do what 3 days of Gluten Free have done for me...give me more energy and a better attitude. It seems like I'm feeling double the energy that I usually have, because I'm without the gorking effect of the Gluten. Since I'm not gorked out on gluten...
  5. I'm not astute enough...yet...to know just how much Gluten is in one of these puppies. They contain the following ingredients: Whole Grain Oats, High Maltose Corn Syrup, Crisp Rice(rice flour, sugar, malt extract, salt mixed tocpherols(Natural Preservative) Natural Raspberry and Strawberry flavored fruit pieces, Almonds, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Natural...
  6. Yeah they tested mine 3 times. 240ng/dl 250 and 340. Pretty pathetic. They sent me to a endocrinologist who looked at me and said I was fine. They didn't like it much when I argued with them and told them I had the testosterone level of an 80 year old. They opted not to treat it, treating it would mean that low testosterone is a medical condition...
  7. A couple years ago, I was diagnosed with low testosterone. As with many things medical it wasn't "quite low enough" to treat, but at the time I had the testosterone level of an 80 year old. (I'm 46) I went round and round with my HMO trying to convince them to give me a trial of testosterone, to no avail. So I've had this low level for a while now...
  8. So, it seems like I’ve made a pretty striking discovery: After I’ve eaten something containing gluten here’s what I experience: -Very Distinct Brain Fog/Depression -Mild Anxiety -Nausea & general gastro symptoms -Diarrhea if I eat enough -Swollen tingling hands -Aches and Pains After a few days being without much Gluten here is what I exper...
  9. Thanks, you can bet immodium is at the top of my medicinal list.
  10. Thanks for your kind responses. I keep thinking I don't have a problem then wammo...it's back!!
  11. Feeling fine this morning.....everything ok. Bam 10:45 stomach rumbling hits and here it comes. Only thing I can think is it's something in Chinese food that's doing this. I seem to get sicker from eating Chinese food than anything else. I'm guessing it's pretty pervasive in this cuisine... Here's the question. If I have Celiac would it make...
  12. Hope everyone had a nice weekend. After Friday's binge on Wheat Thins and a Scone....I had brain fog until Saturday afternoon. It was like the worst food coma you get on Thanksgiving, with a bit of depression and anxiety thrown in there. Amazing that I've never made this connection between WHAT I was eating and how it makes me feel. Then on Sunday...
  13. Feeling seriously stupid here as I push my gluteney a little harder to see if I get the big D again. I find myself forgetting what I just did, doing things twice...having a hard time figuring things out. It's like my mind is plodding thru a peat bog.... I think this is about all the punishment I can take for today. Question for you veterans: ...
  14. One of the things I feel is my eyes get really dry and squinty. It's like the comment my dad used to make "my eyes feel like two pee holes in the snow". I've always wondered where this feeling of "dry eyes" was coming from. Maybe now I know.
  15. What's boggling my mind is that I've been treated for 5 years with an anti-depressant when there seems to be a clear dietary reason for my symptoms. Pardon me if I take a little time to "digest" this because it's quite a mind blowing connection to make. This is the second time I've noticed the wheat thin feeling crappy connection, the first time I thought...
  16. This morning I decided to have a huge handful of wheat thins with my eggs. Going to eat a ton of gluten again, to see if I get the massive runs and stomach cramping again. I swear to God, two hours later I feel groggy, loopy, and mildly anxious. Now I'm not sitting here thinking, I just ate wheat thins, what's going to happen? Just out of the...
  17. Just grabbed a snack out of the machine here at work. I'm doing something good for myself right. Don't want to have the runs later, so I selected Baked Doritos CORN chips. AFTER I ate them I noticed wheat flour is one of the ingredients, way down the list and the chips are probably just dabbed in them to keep from sticking together. BUT it points...
  18. My dad passed away a couple summers ago at the age of 82. He was short stature 5' 6" as am I, but was never diagnosed as Celiac. He was frankly irritable all the time, and medicated himself with Jim Beam for most of his adult life. Up until the time he became feeble, my dad had this huge pot belly, but really skinny legs and almost zero butt... ...
  19. First of all I'm going to confess I've been on a low dose of an Anti-Depressant for several years now. In my early 40s, I started feeling low..without any apparent reason...and to make a long story short, I finally ended up on an AD. Now at this point my mood is fine, except for when I try to stop taking the AD... Be that as it may, I'm curious about...

ARCHIVED How Do Doctor's View Celiac?

Yes, I've considering manipulating my doctor in just such a manner Also considering Enterolab...
  21. So when you were eating Gluten, before being diagnosed, did you notice that Diarreha was worse after eating Gluten or did you just have it all the time? Is there a stage in there, before you have constant D, that you are pretty reactive to Gluten, like in the course of the same day? Then later do you just pretty much have the big D all the time? ...
  22. So any suggestions as to what's the best technique for getting it in there? Sorry, I couldn't help myself...
  23. Thanks Much! Now how do I explain to the little woman, what I'll be sending off in the mail
  24. Ok, I'm sure others have asked this question, but I'm curious about Enterolab. Are these guys for real? Is the test really accurate or is just a money making scheme? Sorry for being so blunt. Does anyone ever test negative when they send their sample to Enterolab? What do you all think, is it worth the $99?? How do I explain to my wife...
  25. Yeah, thanks...that's exactly what I noticed. I can eat like a piece of toast with breakfast and I don't notice anything. Pounding down a bunch of gluten all at once seems to make me much sicker. Assuming of course that it is the gluten....
