ARCHIVED I Ate Chicken Nuggets After Talking To My New Doc -- Hellp!
chgomom replied to chgomom's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I think peopel are really over stating things when they aren't docs. I really take to hear the advice about peoples personal experience. I have had every lab under the sun. I have elevated proteins, ALT and liver enzymes...not in the thousands but elevated. I have had a CT scan that shows intestinal damage and I have a fmaily history of auto immune... -
ARCHIVED I Ate Chicken Nuggets After Talking To My New Doc -- Hellp!
chgomom replied to chgomom's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Why would it be a guinea pig, evrything I have read says the biopsy is the final diagnosis. Then I looked up this stuff, and if you "google: "high IGA" the first thing that comes up is multiple myleoma.... Um, then again when I come in for my appt I can always say people are considered celiac with out a biopsy....can't we test to rule out those other... -
ARCHIVED How Can I Eat Gluten Free In Japan?
chgomom replied to spunkysparkle's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have lived and worked in Japan for many years, and I work as a Japanese translator. On my travels there, you can not eat: Seaweed, unless dry roasted (so like at a Sushi bar you have to have Sashimi, not sushi) unless that can assure you there is no soy sauce in it (because soy sauce is cured with wheat) There are lots of breads in Japan...obviously... -

Uggghhh well I got in with one of the best docs in the country. Who specializes in celiac disease and reseach. She has me faxing over some labs another doc did tomorrow....and she explained why I must have a biopsy. She said to put it bluntly....it could be any number of equally bad things. She said....renal, autoimmune liver disorders...and even something... -
ARCHIVED White Spots And Ridges On My Nails And Joint Pain?
chgomom replied to chgomom's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Looking at all of my nails, I hand ridge that go vertical, some are "deep" others are not, then I have white patches, then some of them are "darker" (not like black or blue or anything) towards the tips.... Ugghhhh I feel like I am whining...and then looking back on this this I have had this happen in my feet before, but they did not see a break. So... -
ARCHIVED White Spots And Ridges On My Nails And Joint Pain?
chgomom posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Maybe I am stupid, but my general doc does not seem to be concerned I just broke a small bone in my foot, with no obvious trauma and not I have white spots and ridges on my nails? I am pushing to see my new GI doc sooner, because I think I could have a serious imbalance with calcium or zinc or something (form what I am reading) I am just being over... -

low.....was 68....I used my neighbors monitor and I am considering buying a cheap one from the pharmacy tonight. I have had it tested.....but they said.....when it was low (for me) 75 thats normal....and when it was its highest....119...that was ok. I've done fasting not fasting, glucose tolerance...all of that.... They seem to think its not a problem...

I am pushing this issue when I see the doc on the 8th. Last time I check ed it was really low, so...I had a piece of fruit, and a little fruit juice...and walah!(because I frequently get blurry visiosn, dizzy, and agitated) Just now the same garbage happening, I got a piece of fruit, and had a sip of pop because there was no juice available in the machine...

Thyroid is all normal but they said my non fasting blood sugar was fine...and they did'nt have any reason to think I was type one or hypoglycemic.....although I....as a sneaky little bugger checked my blood sugar with a enighbors monitor one particularly bad day this past weekend...and it was like 68...So I think some of that is going on.... I have never...

I know when I took prednisone....for a really bad sore throat couple 2 mos ago...I had felt so much better and had minimal problems related to my celiac.....my joint pain and mmy exhaustion were gone and the other stuff with this nasty little thing were almost non existent...

By the way....I do have Celiac....but what the heck is going on....

I am so scared....my IGA levels were through the roof.... My c3c levels were as well as my crp. I have to wait till Sept 8th for an appt with a Rheumatologist....and then the new GI doc isn't till October. They say I can't have anything like Lupus or Sjogrens cause my ana ans sed rate were with in normal range, the very highest end of normal, but still...

If you don't need a referral, take your self to a rheumatologist and tell him or her you have concerns about autoimmune disorders and ask them to test for everything. They will usually be cooperative. Thats how I found out, my regular doc was saying it was all in my head or stress related.

I am so sorry for being probably the millionth person to lament on the board, but I can't help it. It seems as though I am sensitive to more and more. Namely diary and corn. Is this possible? Not only that, but I have BP and pulse issues....does anyone else get these? And sitting here at my desk at work I just want to fall asleep even after a full...

chgomom replied to chgomom's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Oh thanks....its really amazing what your body will tell you. No bipsie yet....all blood work wayyyyyy positive doc insists that I need to be scoped or he won't call it what I know it is. He said dietary reactions could all just be coincidental. Frustrating as it is....I am now on the hunt for another doctor. I just saw one ....at University of Illinois... -
Uncle Ben's Ready Rice
chgomom replied to a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Oh no....not with the canola oil....just had that experience tonight and I never have any luck with canola oil with my celiac. My suggestion, by a small rice cooker, so you can keep rice on all day....then you scoop out what ever you want put it in a pan with some non hydrogenated oil....and go to town and add some all natural chicken (that which has not... -

Hello All.... I am up with a flight leaving at 2 am ....right now its 10:30 pm my time. Hi all...just chiming in here as someone particularly sensitive when they say cooked with wheat free....it does nto mean safe for celiac...because those sauces are still processed with barley. I had an incident where I ordered and they gave me regular and I got rellay sick. So my GI doc said when I order to say cooked with no sauce...on the lettuce...

chgomom replied to chgomom's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks for all of the opinions....I did eat it after having meat.....and a lara bar. I have been strict with my gluten free....so I can be 100% sure there was no cross contamination. But....I was told possibly GERD in conjunction with the celiac last night....so now they have me trying Pepcid....I hate meds though....
