Anyone Know Ku Ku Canteen In Nyc?

Anyone know this restaurant?  I see that the NYC Celiac Meetup group is having an event there to celebrate their re-opening.  I'm always wary of these types of things with restaurants I don't know (because I worry that maybe they were closed for health code violations), but the menu looks great and I'd really like to check it out.  Should I be concerned?

Gluten-Free Fun Rookie

This is our second Meetup event at Ku Ku Canteen. I encourage you to call them directly if you have any concerns. The owner's name is Jackie and she is very aware of all of our gluten-free needs. This will be my 5th or 6th time eating there. The staff is very good and they have a lot of knowledge about gluten-free preparation.

By the time we have our event, they will have been reopened more than a month. Restaurants open and close all of the time in NYC. This closing was not unusual to the city. I think you would be surprised which of your other favorite gluten-free restaurants have opened and closed due to the city inspection ratings.

Thanks - I was hoping someone from the NY group might be on here.  That's reassuring.  The menu certainly does look good!

"Conclusions: The urinary iodine level was significantly lower in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis, and iodine replacement may be important in preventing osteoporosis"  Body iodine status in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis Low iodine can cause thyroid problems, but Iodine deficiency will not show up in thyroid tests.  Iodine is important for healing, its job is to kill off defective and aging cells (Apoptosis). Skin, brain fog, nails, muscle tone all inproved when I started taking 600 mcg (RDA 150 - 1000 mcg) of Liquid Iodine drops. Some with dermatitis herpetiformis, Iodine exacerbates the rash.  I started at 1 drop (50 mcg) and worked up to 12 drops, but I don't have dermatitis herpetiformis.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I found myself giggling with happiness as I read how your body reached such spring! And I hope that your current journey is also successful!! Definitely starting the food diary! So many amazing advices. And it’s very scary. It really hits all our soft spots as well as our confidence system. Most doctors I went thought I was underage despite being in my late 20s. Right now I look like am I twelve, but is also this body that’s taking so much, so I might as well love it too! Going to make the necessary changes and stay in this path. Thank you again! 🫶

Thank you so much for the information and kind message! Reading this transformed how I’ve been viewing my efforts and progress. Guess there’s still a lot to celebrate and also heal 😌  Yes, I’ve been taking it! Just recently started taking a multivitamin supplement and separated vitamin D! I also took chewable Iron polymaltose for ferritin deficiency 2 months ago but was unable to absorb any of it.  Thank you again! Hearing such gentle words from the community makes my body and heart more patient and excited for the future.
