Does anyone know if the Walmart brand of plain yogurt is gluten free????

the ingredients are a little different from the one that I usually buy, Yoplait. However, I need a plain yogurt for a recipe and it's the only plain yogurt I could find. I got it, but now I am unsure about using it.

Does anyone know? They added gelatin to it. Is that a safe ingredient???

Sometimes I feel so ignorant!!!

I think gelatin is safe. When I looked at the yogurt labels, my concern was the modified food starch.

Gelatin is actually a byproduct made from the bones of cattle, and it is gluten free. However regarding the yogurt, I have found that most "plain" yogurts are gluten-free, but you need to check with the manufacturer if there is any modified food starch that doesn't specify if it's corn, rice or tapioca. Also some natural flavors are not gluten free. I believe that there is a 1-800 number on most walmart product packaging, you might just give them a buzz so they can confirm or deny that it is gluten-free.

Congrats! Can you share the recipe? We just picked up a bread maker from an estate sale and are experimenting.
