celiac disease Symptoms In An Infant?

What are the "common or typical" signs of Celiacs in an infant?? The baby is eating all the glutens and seems fine overall. She is active and crawling. At the most recent pediatric appt her length and weight dropped in percentages (40% L and 20% W) from just 3 months prior. Dr says it is fine. Baby is doing fine.

I know about what celiac disease did to me, but what does it do to babies? What makes parents and DRs suspect celiac disease in a baby?

I think the symptoms are different from each person, not necessarily each age. Is there any symptom aside from the lack of growth? That was one of first indicators for our son however. We actually took him in for diarrhea which turned out to be caused by the Celiac but that had been a recent thing. He was 21.5 mos at that point and, obviously, had Celiac disease for longer than just a few months.

My daughter started with loose stools and bleeding rash as soon as we started feeding her bread as a finger food at about 10 months. Otherwise, she has been a very normal kid. In fact, durring her worst breakout, we had a pediatircian (her regular Dr's partner) reject the idea of celiac disease because she has had no weight loss. Other than the loose stool and rash, we have noticed no other symptoms.

If I understand what I have been reading, most of the "clasic" symptoms are caused by damage from past exposure. Since there is a family history, you might want to start the gluten free died, just to be safe.

I eat a lot of dairy but its intermittent is this burning so I would assume it would happen all the time. Plus I have been tested for lactose intolerance  etc and I am fine and the other symptoms of that I don't get. As a aside  my dad died last month after a long illness so I wonder if the stress of that might be a influence as a bodily reaction to stress.

You should be fine.  You may start feeling better within a few days.  Someone who is very low in thiamine may notice improvement within hours.   Did you get the NeuroMag  or another magnesium supplement?

Yes Bobs redmill cgf oatmeal I started when I became gluten-free. So taking all 3 with breakfast should work? Will I notice any reactions getting used to these or should I be fine. Thanks

Hello, @pilber309, welcome to the forum! Are you currently consuming dairy?   You mentioned something about lots of yogurt and cheese, but did you cut it out or are you eating lots of it?   Could you clarify please? Some people with Celiac react to casein, the protein in dairy the same as to gluten with antibodies and villi damage.
