Gluten or dairy...or in my head

For an entire two YEARS, I've been trying to figure out what's wrong with my gut. I was sure it had to be gallbladder...never was.
Now, I'm wondering about gluten or dairy. Here are the symptoms
low iron levels, anxiety, depression, SUPER foggy on the daily, headaches, cold hands and toes that go numb and tingly, constant state of constipation or diarrhea depending on what I eat, bloating, enlarged liver, enlarged spleen, joint pain (and I"m only 39), fluid filled bumpy things that randomly pop up all over my hands, thyroid issues, cramps/diarrhea about 1-2 hours after eating rich pasta and SOME (but not all) brands of pizza. That's the short list of the major things.

So...could this be dairy? Or gluten? How in the world do you determine which one it is...if it's even one of those things. At this point, I question if it's all in my head. I have an appointment with my family doctor tomorrow to talk about possible celiac testing, but I'm feeling REALLY insecure about it. I don't get sick from eating bread or tortillas...bloated, yes...but it's not a disaster like if I would go to Olive Garden!

Keep eating gluten and go to your doctor.  He or she can give you a blood test for Celiac.  See what that says and go from there.

Here is more information about celiac testing:

You can not go by symptoms alone because there are over 200 of them that often overlap with other autoimmune disorders or illnesses.  Testing is best before even considering the gluten free diet.

Yep blood test, followed by a endoscope where they take biopsies and check for damage. Keep eating gluten daily til the testing is done.

As to your question about dairy, dairy intolerance goes hand in hand with celiac disease. The enzymes to break down dairy are made by the tips of your villi which are damaged or gone. So you end up with a dairy intolerance, that may go away after awhile being gluten free

You should be fine.  You may start feeling better within a few days.  Someone who is very low in thiamine may notice improvement within hours.   Did you get the NeuroMag  or another magnesium supplement?

Yes Bobs redmill cgf oatmeal I started when I became gluten-free. So taking all 3 with breakfast should work? Will I notice any reactions getting used to these or should I be fine. Thanks

Hello, @pilber309, welcome to the forum! Are you currently consuming dairy?   You mentioned something about lots of yogurt and cheese, but did you cut it out or are you eating lots of it?   Could you clarify please? Some people with Celiac react to casein, the protein in dairy the same as to gluten with antibodies and villi damage.

You may want to skip the oatmeal.  I believe you're trialing a gluten free diet while waiting for an appointment with your doctor in the new year and doing a gluten challenge then.  Some people with Celiac disease react to the protein in oats called avenin the same as to gluten.  Cross contamination between oats and gluten containing grains is possible.  Are you consuming certified gluten free oats?   I would hate for you to have a reaction to the oats and blame it on the vitamins. Yes, it will be fine to take them all together.  I take mine all together, B Complex, Benfotiamine and TTFD Thiamine with breakfast. If you're really anxious about it, just take the B Complex and Benfotiamine at breakfast and the Thiamax at lunch.  You won't have to take a second B Complex with the Thiamax.

So I purchased the Life Extension Benfotiamine with Thiamine along with the Thiamax. I will take along with my Super B Complexes. I stopped taking the multi vitamins. Should I take all 3 vitamins/supplements together with my morning oatmeal breakfast? Do you think I will experience any bad symptoms when taking them.
