2 months strict gluten-free, lab results

Hi all, I was diagnosed a little over 2 months ago and have been strictly gluten free since then.  My doc ordered repeat labs at two months and a follow up appointment.  I have received them and the only marker that has changed was TTG IGA (now negative, previously positive).  I still have high Antigliadin Antibody IGG and IGA.  I don't know what to make of this.  Isn't two months too soon to tell?  Does anyone have experience with post-diagnosis labs they can share? Thank you.

It can take many months for the numbers to come down.

Thank you... I figured that but I don't know why my doc would want to run the labs so soon then.  It just feels a little discouraging.

Two months is a bit too soon, but at least your TTG came down. That is a great sign!  Stay the course.

Discouraging?  You already have one normal value!  That’s great! And the TTG is the antibody against yourself so a great one to be in the normal range.  Keep up the good work.

Thank you! I'll keep at it.

Going on a cruise next week and I’m a celiac. Bought a bottle of GliandinX. Should I just take two tablets per day as a precaution? Never tried this before!! Any help is appreciated!!

Good point, as thyroid conditions are more common in those with celiac disease: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/celiac-disease-amp-related-diseases-and-disorders/thyroid-pancreatic-disorders-and-celiac-disease/
