The Clif Bar website says that they are not gluten-free because they contain oats, but the wrappers say that all ingredients are sourced from places without contaimination from wheat. Doesn't that make them gluten-free?

No, sorry - oats are a source of gluten, especially if they're manufactured in the U.S. I also really hated to give up Luna bars - they're such a wonderful snack food! - but they were one of the last things I had to lose to make the rest of my symptoms go away. I've switched to Lara bars; they're made from dried fruit and nuts, and they're remarkably good.

Yup, luna def not gluten-free. Clif Nectar bars are gluten-free though. However, they do give disclaimer--that they can't guarantee they are always without contamination, so the choice is yours :) I have eaten them in the past. Alot of the gluten-free bars have too much fat for my liking...but there are quite a few out there. Another option are Dr. Bronner's Alpsnacks--they are really good. I recommend the chocolate one. Oats are usually contaminated with gluten. I believe that there are only a few brands of oats that are not contaminated.

Wheat free does NOT mean gluten free. Gluten is found in wheat, barley, rye, and possibly oats. Oats are a controversial item, with research suggesting that a small, but non-trivial, percentage of celiacs react to the inherent oat protein, avenin. Regardless of that, virtually ALL oats, and all readily available commercial oats, are heavily contaminated with wheat. Luna Bars are not gluten-free. (Many of them have barley malt in the ingredients as well.)

Interesting, when I suffered for a few months with ectopics I noticed that carbohydrates would cause indigestion and bloating in my stomach, then that would lead to my heart skipping beats, and I could feel it in my throat, it was very unsettling.  My last serious bout of this was after eating a Muller Rice Pudding for breakfast.   I happened to be wearing a 48 hour halter at the time and cardiology picked it up, but they weren't worried about what they saw. There was some British doctor who'd made some videos on the Vagus nerve that I remember watching at the time which made sense of what I was experiencing, there did seem to be some sort of connection.

I asked my cardiologist about stopping vitamins.  He said his tests account for all detectable vitamins from sources other than food.  I only need to stop them for a couple of days.  He has me keep records of meds and vitamins I've ingested over the past 10 days and prior and he does his calculations.

Reply to treats I try and eat to bring up the glucose. Sometime I get up 3 times a night and eat something. I don't think food is the issue. A lot of the food they say should help doesn't.  Many mornings my level is 59 and I feel sick, sometimes for hours. It has been recommended I go to an Endocrinologist.
