How to treat the purple mark on skin after a DH flare-up?

Hi folks,

I had a DH flare-up. It is healing now, but there is that familiar purple mark where the DH had been. Is there anything I can do to help this coloring go away?

I have some oils as well as RetinA-micro that my dermatologist prescribed. Just looking to draw some ideas from the community about what seems to work for you.

This was my first DH flare-up in a while. I used to have it bad, but after getting very strict about crosscontamination and following the Fasano diet I've cut down incidents dramatically. Not sure what caused this one. I have been cutting down on my Dapsone - I was doing 50mg/day, and on the advice of dermatologist decided to try 50mg every other day. I suppose it could be my body adjusting. If anyone has any insight on this I would appreciate hearing it.

Thank you. This is a great community.

How long have you been on the Dapsone?

Those purple marks will fade completely in time. I would say 6 months at the very most. I never did anything to try & make them go away.

crush an aspirin and mix it with honey, leave it on the area for 15 minutes then rinse it off. the enzymes in honey are pretty good at accelerating healing and aspirin is anti-inflammatory as well as being a great PH for your skin

This article has some detailed information on how to be 100% gluten-free, so it may be helpful (be sure to also read the comments section.):

Wheat flour is fortified with vitamins in the U.S. as a part of USDA policy. Gluten free facsimile products are not fortified. There is no government mandate for such. When you remove wheat flour by going gluten free, you may be removing a significant source of vitamins.
