Tyson Bacon ~ No Ingredient List?

I mean I know that it is pork. It says "Hickory Smoked", but both DH and I looked and saw no ingredient list. I wanted to makes sure it was gluten-free before eating it. I did email Tyson, but they said it could take 5-7 business days to respond. Anyone have any info on that?

Sargento shredded cheese lists these ingredients....cheddar cheese (pasteurized milk, cheese, culture, salt, enzymes, annato (vegetable color)), potato starch, and powdered cellulose, natamycin. Reason I am curious here is that I ate this yesterday and had some tummy issues.......I thought it was gluten-free, but wanted to double check. I could be having some issues with dairy too, so I may just eliminate it for a month or 2 to see if that helps. I have been able to do cheese up until now though (been gluten-free for 2.5 weeks and saw a huge improvement almost immediately).

Thanks in advance for any advice, I really appreciate it! I learn so much from these boards!

Kim

I think the rule is that if it is 100% something, then you don't need an ingredient list (i.e., sugar is 100% sugar, so there is no list). I don't know if this is applicable to this product? It was the only idea I had.

I believe that Sargento cheese is fine-I use it all the time. There are many people who have trouble with dairy until they are fully healed (and some have trouble after they have been accidentally glutened) --- myself included. Its so mean-I can't eat lots of dairy after I've been glutened. Its one of my favorite foods! If you have only been gluten-free 2.5 weeks (I'm sure it seems like an eternity though), your body is almost def still healing!

Good luck.

Thank you very much! I think I remember reading something like that a long time ago too, now that you mention it. I think the Hickory Smoked threw me off...figuring that they must have added some flavor.

I think I am going to go DF for a while and see if that doesn't help. That is going to kill me, as I put cheese on everything, but I am willing to give it a try to see if it may be part of the issue.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
