What's Up With Rice Bran?

Does anyone know exactly why rice bran can be a problem?

I'm not improving, and the only thing I can think of is the rice bran in the rice pastas I've been eating. I react everytime I have a pasta meal, it seems. What is rice bran anyways? Would that entail brown rice as well?

rice bran is the bran off of the rice. same way as with wheat bran. it's part of the outer covering on the grain itself. it's high in fiber, and it might cause problems for you. are you bothered by plain white rice or brown rice?

I usually eat white rice, with no problems. I keep reacting from various brands of rice pasta, or so I believe, all of them having rice bran. Someone else, from another forum on the matter, suggested that it could be the rice bran that is the culprit.... So I'm just wondering.

It's hard to say off of white rice alone. If white rice didn't give you a problem and plain brown rice did, then I'd assume the bran (the extra fiber, really). But have you ruled out cross contamination?

Thanks rmj when I first rang up it was we can't do it without , but I talked to a lovely lady and she sorted it all out for me, so it pays to be persistent , I would have had to decline if I hadn't been given the water option too , so yes I'm glad too 😌

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.
