Neopets Island Crunch Cereal

Hey Everyone,

I came across a new cereal, it is a little kiddish, but for those of us with semi-sweet teeth, it may satisfy us for a bit.

It is called Neopets Island Crunch cereal. I found it next to the Kix and it looks safe. I had to re-read the ingredients a few times seems good. Tastes good, too, not too sugary but it has taste!

Let me know if you hear anything or try it.

I just looked up the ingredients, it's a General Mills product and they are good about labeling, so yes, to me it looks to be ok. Keep in mind there is always the risk of cross contamination in the factory if they make gluten containing cereals, but yeah, it looks to be gluten free.

I just found it yesterday. I called the company to verify, other natural flavors. The ingredients are gluten free, cross contamination is a possibility. It is a bit sweet, so my kids like it. No one in my family has had any gluten symptoms after eating it.

      good luck! vital wheat gluten made me violently ill. I will touch the stuff ever again.

      I wouldn't consider this lucky. I can NOT tolerate the symptoms. And I googled it and I was not even getting 10 grams of gluten per day and I was extremely ill. They'd have to put me in the hospital. I'm not kidding. I will have my first appt with a GI dr on March 4th I will not eat gluten again - at least not on purpose ...

      My journey is it gluten or fiber?

      What Thiamine Hydrochloride brand do you take? Is it like the other vitamins I have added? What brand Tryptophan and amount do you take. Thanks

      Gluten free Yogurt suggest

      I would not think store bought yogurt would contain gluten unless it possibly could be through an added flavoring or coloring ingredient. Otherwise, it should be naturally gluten free. Keep in mind that some companies are capitalizing on people's fears and ignorance (nothing personal intended) by labeling foods "gluten free" that are just that way by...

      FDA looking for input on Celiac Gluten sensitivity labeling PLEASE READ and submit your suggestions

      I believe the GFCO does use a common logo for certified gluten free products (those containing not more that 10ppm of gluten) but nothing universal yet from the FDA for standard gluten free products (those containing not more that 20ppm).

Otherwise, it should be naturally gluten free.  Keep in mind that some companies are capitalizing on people's fears and ignorance (nothing personal intended) by labeling foods "gluten free" that are just that way by the nature of what they are. They are hoping to create a marketing edge over their competitors by adding "gluten free" because they know it may catch attention of those new to the celiac/gluten sensitivity experience without having to cost them anything in the way of changing their manufacturing process or doing testing.
