Severe vomiting after eating gluten

It's comforting to know that others have this same reaction to gluten. I always read about the typical reactions, but, like others here, my reaction is severe vomiting and diahrrea that comes on very suddenly and lasts sometimes for several hours. I tell others that it's like the worst stomach bug they can imagine. I am always left depleted and exhausted.  The next day I am so worn out I feel like doing nothing at all. It just wears me out. I don't get glutened unless I eat at someone else's home or at a restaurant, as I am very careful at home, but it's awful when it hits. Wish there was something to take to minimize the attack once it starts.

I have the same symptoms. I have been extremely careful over the last few years, however, about 4-5 years ago, I had a very bad reaction. Vomiting is the worst of it.

Found out the the HCTZ doesn't have gluten in it.  But for me it made my sodium level drop so low, I ended up in hospital.  So it is gluten free, but didn't help my blood pressure levels. Everyone is different.

You are right, it does say that it doesn't contain gluten: https://www.gaviscon.ie/products/gaviscon-advance-aniseed-flavor-liquid/   Is there any chance you have a sensitivity to one of its many other ingredients?

Palmers pure shea vanilla body lotion has got oat extract as an ingredient, just to be careful as oats that are not specifically gluten free have risk of contamination with gluten containing grains.
