I worked I. Good service today I had to butter a piece of bread I also give them food not gluten free is that ok. 
 

will my ttg test always be positive because of that

Jane07 My first question are you Celiac or Have a Non Celiac Gluten Allergy? If yes to either you should be on a gluten-free Diet. Thats without ingesting Gluten of any kind as well as you should avoid handling anything containing Gluten. If you do have blood tests for Celiacs while consuming Gluten then yes your blood work will come back showing it! If you stay Strictly gluten-free no cheating including the bread you ate today as well as the butter if it’s not gluten-free which I am thinking it probably was not you will not only test positive but if your a Celiac you are doing way more than that by consuming gluten in any amount small or large! You will damage your lower intestine and cause Villous Atrophy which is flattening of your Villi where you will not absorb vitamins, minerals and all nutrients needed! You should stay clear of Gluten which means being gluten-free for life! If I were you, look up Celiacs Disease and educate yourself with the facts! I am a Celiac myself and got the diagnosis over 20yrs ago and have been completely gluten-free ever since no so called diet, it is a Lifestyle and for a Purpose! I hope this helps answer your question!

You can inhale microscopic gluten particles that get airborne you can’t even see that if your a Celiac could cause a reaction to it! Were you touching the bread, butter and whatever other foods you handed out without food handlers gloves? If so you risk absorption through your skin as well!

Toothpaste, Body Lotions, make up products and so on can and do contain it as well not just food or beverages! Thanks for your input I do wear a masks I should wear gloves thanks for your help have you been Gluten free a while Nick  👍. I keep educating myself a year ago I didn’t know I had this

If I understand your question, you're asking if handling gluten while working food service will be a problem with your Celiac? Can't say for sure, but I doubt it - just be careful to wash your hands before eating and make sure you're not touching your mouth or face with hands with crumbs on them. I make sandwiches for my gluten eating kids all the time.

20+yrs diagnosed in 2005 at age 35 I am 53 going on 54 God willing!🙂

Stay Strong💪It is not something I would wish on anyone. We are in this together, your not alone so please don’t feel that way! I know 20yrs ago I did and no one seemed to know anything about Celiacs me being one but especially GI Dr’s so I ended up going to a group of Celiac Specialist in Charlottesville Va called UVA they were incredible! Dr. Shelia Crowe was head Dr there at the time and she had a great team of well educated Dr’s working hand in hand with her! She is now out in California with the Celiac Foundation if I’m not mistaken? I lived in Norfolk Va back when I got my diagnosis per bloodwork then confirmed by Endoscopy biopsy and I had to drive 4-1/2hrs one way to go to UVA but it was worth getting real info by Dr’s who didn’t look at Celiacs like it was all in my head! Good Luck☘️we all need it and more!

      Definitely worth speaking to your gastroenterologist about this. My own told me that by using Gaviscon a barrier forms over the contents of the stomach and stops gas and acid irritating the throat.  In fact, he said to me that because I found relief using Gaviscon that was a very clear indicator that reflux was the cause of that particular issue.   A wedge pillow will really help with this - or raising the top bed legs with bricks.

      I did get the pneumonia vaccine about 4 years ago. I had this amazing allergist who did all those vitamin deficiencies test and told to get that vaccine. Unfortunately she retired.  I haven’t been to an allergist in a few years,  I’m not sure what my levels are now. I did have a pulmonologist who wasn’t concern and said I seemed fine to him that I was young etc. But yes I think I should at the very least get a different opinion. Thank you for your reply

      Yes I do have acid reflux. I’m not on anything for it at the moment. I sometimes wonder if that’s what it could be because I get heart burn every night. I may revisit my gastrointestinal doctor again. Thanks for the reply

      Hi @HelloFlowersGoodbyeFlour I wonder if you suffer from reflux, as if you do, you may find it could also be irritating your airways.  I shall explain: I have to use a blue inhaler from time to time, and it seems to be related to reflux.  Never had any trouble before my coeliac diagnosis, the reflux seemed to be something that developed following a holiday to France in 2019, where I had been exposed to gluten.    The reflux continued into the autumn and winter, my throat itched to begin with, particularly after meals, but it then that feeling of irritation seemed to spread to my lungs.  I even found it difficult to breathe on occasion. What stopped it in its tracks was using a wedge pillow at night, following a reflux diet (you can find them online), not eating 2-4 hours before bed and also having a dose of Gaviscon Advanced at night, which forms a barrier so that acid/food can't go back up your esophagus.  The throat irritation faded, and then I found it easier to breathe again. Just mentioning in case it could be a contributing factor.

      Since initially getting your D checked a few years ago, has it since rebounded to normal levels? Sounds like at some point you got it checked again.
