Recommendations Needed: Gluten Enzyme Supplements That Work?

Hi everyone,  I'm on the hunt for reliable gluten enzyme supplements to help deal with those accidental gluten exposures. Despite being vigilant, those occasional cross-contaminations happen, and I'd love to have an extra layer of protection for those just-in-case moments.

Hello, I have something called "Complete Gluten Digest". I assume my Wellness/ Functional Medicine Doctor produced it since it is included in the supplement's name.  I will give you that contact information; you can decide if you want to contact them. They are in Lewisville, Tx (in the Dallas Area). She does online visits with her patients. I am not sure about ordering supplements if you have not seen her. However, I have seen some in the Nature's Grocer store. I just cannot recommend a brand other than the one I have. Best wishes for finding some that work for you.

Come to think of it, I am not sure if giving this information is breaking the rules for this site. I will get it for you if someone can verify it is ok.

Best wishes in finding one that works best for you.

Hi Janeen,

Thank you so much for your recommendation and for sharing your experience with "Complete Gluten Digest." I truly appreciate you taking the time to provide me with the contact information and your insights.

I did give "Complete Gluten Digest" a try in the past, hoping it would be the solution I was looking for. Unfortunately, it didn't work out as well for me as I had hoped. It seems like my body didn't respond to it in the way I needed, which is a reminder of how personal and unique our bodies' responses can be to supplements.

Hopefully, I'll find the right match soon :)

Thanks again for your kindness and support!

More studies have been done on AN-PEP enzymes than any others for breaking down gluten in the stomach, before it reaches your intestines. GliadinX, a sponsor here, is an example, you can read the studies here:

Note that they are only recommended for small amounts of accidental gluten ingestion, as you might get when eating in a restaurant when you order gluten-free food but it gets contaminated.

Molerey,

I am very strict gluten free, so maybe that is why the complete gluten worked for me.

Praying you find your answer. Chances are there is an additional irritant that likes to pal around with gluten that could be bothering you. Are you soy free? I found soy to give me the worst reaction of Gluten Dairy and soy.

Hi Scott and Janeen,

Thanks a lot for the insights and recommendations. Scott, learning about AN-PEP enzymes and GliadinX is really useful. I’m intrigued by the idea that there’s a supplement out there backed by research, aimed at those small accidental gluten exposures. I’ll definitely check out those studies you mentioned.

Janeen, your point about being strictly gluten-free and the potential for other irritants like soy to cause issues is something I hadn’t considered. It’s a good reminder to look beyond gluten and think about other foods that might be affecting me. I’ll try cutting out soy to see if that makes a difference.

I appreciate both of your help. It’s given me new avenues to explore in managing my sensitivity better.

Best, Molerey

Soy is naturally gluten-free but some soy products contain other gluten-containing ingredients.

Soy Sauce has wheat listed first then soy, so for Chinese food make sure they use Tamari Sauce instead of soy.

Yes, I use Tamari sauce since it's gluten-free. It's worth noting that soy might not be the best for digestion for some people.

It looks like their most recent clinical trial just finished up on 5-22-2025.

Dear Scott,  please check the link https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT05574010?intr=KAN-101&rank=1 What do you think about it?

KAN‑101 is still very much in development and being actively studied. It has not been dropped—rather, it is advancing through Phases 1 and 2, moving toward what could become the first disease‑modifying treatment for celiac disease. https://anokion.com/press_releases/anokion-announces-positive-symptom-data-from-its-phase-2-trial-evaluating-kan-101-for-the-treatment-of-celiac-disease/

Thiamine interacts with all the other B vitamins.  Thiamine and B 6 make a very important enzyme together. With more thiamine and other vitamins available from the supplements your body is absorbing the ones you need more of.  The body can control which vitamins to absorb or not.  You're absorbing more and it's being transported through the blood.   It's common to have both a Thiamine and a Pyridoxine deficiency.  Keep taking the B Complex. This is why it's best to stop taking supplements for six to eight weeks before testing vitamin levels.

Yes I took a supplement that had B6 in it, low dosage though. I've stopped taking that. B1 doesn't affect other B vitamin levels?
