Wonderful Pf Changs Dining Expierence

Last night we went out to dinner with our neighbors to the nearest PF Changs that we have frequented since they opened. I called them on Saturday and talked about my corn allergy to the mgr. that was going to open on Sunday. She called me back mid-afternoon on Sunday and said she talked to the chef and I would be able to have the gluten-free foods I usually order. She also told me to bring a printout of the menu and this coming week they would go over it with the chef and make notations on what I need to substiture so that their is no corn in them. They will mail it back to me for future reference. When we got there, the chef came out to talk to me and said this was not a problem and that they would always take care of this for me. They used potato starch as a thickening agent in my sauce. This was so great as I have been really concerned over the corn problem. I spent so much time finding places that were safe to eat and now I have to start over and email or call them to discuss the corn. We all had a wonderfull dinner and I was totally relaxed knowing that PF Changs took my concerns so seriously.

Their singapore noodles with chicken and shrimp is a wonder to behold.

Unfortunatly it's a haul to get there - about 1 1/2 hrs. (Palm Beach Gardens, FL)

Sometimes I go to their website just to reminisce. :rolleyes:

I am glad to hear that you had such a great experience. I had a good one too when I went to Atlantic City in NJ. It is a great place to go and I cant wait to go again!

My friend is here for a week and said last night "I want to take you out to a good seafood resturant" I said ,"The only place I go Is PF Changs". She said, "Good, Let's go there!" We're going shopping today and taking a cooler with us. She's ok with that and said she is going on the diet to see if she feels better. Hope she doesn't have it-she's a caterer. LindaLee

PF Changs has been wonderful to me each time I've dined there. The staff has been fantastic with their gluten-free menu. Overall, I think their food is overrated but I know it's safe. I might venture to the Cheesecake Factory tomorrow for lunch with friends. I know their fries are not safe but I think I can find something on the menu to be safe. I hope.

      Hey,My name is Jessika and I’m totally new to Celiac disease and gluten related conditions can anyone give me some advice my conditions right now are:Hypertension,Hydocephalus, SIADH /Hyponatremia,Raynaud’s Syndrome ,Fibromyalgia and anemia/Iron Deficiency,B12 issues,sodium, potassium,chloride and some other vitamins deficiency sometimes what could all this be related to and who should I see to find out what’s going on and for any tests? Anything is helpful and appreciated thanks Jessi

      Welcome to the forum, @JessikaSwallow78! There have been over 200 symptoms and health problems associated with celiac disease. So, it might be more helpful if you tell us what symptoms you have that make you think you might have celiac disease.

      There is not enough information to assess the likelihood of coeliac disease. You'll have to chase this up with the quack. The lab should provide antibody titres and a reference range. They might just have done an EMA test, which is negative/positive and antiquated - a proper IgA-ttG2 test would be more helpful.

      Blood tests for vitamin deficiencies are not an accurate measurement of vitamin stores within cells where the vitamins are actually utilized.  The brain will order cells in tissues and organs to put their stored vitamins into the blood stream to supply the brain and heart.  Deficiency symptoms can appear before there's a change in blood levels.   The eight B vitamins are water soluble.  That means they can get flushed out of your system easily with that Russian Roulette Running.  Some vitamin deficiencies have gastrointestinal symptoms that mimic Celiac Disease.  Thiamine deficiency has gastrointestinal symptoms including diarrhea.  Vitamin C is also water soluble with gastrointestinal symptoms like diarrhea when deficient.  Symptoms of a deficiency in Niacin B3 include diarrhea, and a blistering reaction to sunlight.  Have a nice vacation and keep us posted on your progress when you get back! P.S. There's not a difference between being glutened and being cross contaminated.  You'll get your usual symptoms.  The digestive tract has a limited vocabulary.
