Totally Gluten Free Store!

I am so excited! :D:P

I went down to Vancouver today to a store that I found out carries Enjoy Life to try some of their products.

This market is totally gluten free! The only thing they carry that isn't gluten free is some beer. It is called Loganberries Market for those of you near by. They have many different brands and the prices aren't much different than Wild Oats, a little lower. We do have a Trader Joes in Vancouver but I haven't been there. The market is off I205, exit 30 to 500 East. Go through the stop light and it is in the shopping area to the left.

Maybe others have already found this store but I wanted to share just in case. :D

Thanks, Andrea! One of our young cousins, who has celiac disease, just went to live for the summer with her grandmother in Vancouver, and I passed the information on to her mother (who is in Ottawa).

I love your picture of your kitties! :D

They don't have fresh baked bread. They do carry Enjoy Life, Food for Life and Ener-G breads that I saw. The have lots of mixes for bread and treats. I bought the Enjoy Life cookies. Expensive but yum! Wild Oats also carries some of the enjoy life stuff. Cookie flavors that Lingonberries didn't have. Wild Oats is off the Mill Plain exit (28). Coming up I205 north you'd take the Mill Plain east. Right at the off ramp light (Fred Meyer is on that side. Coming up I205 south you'd turn left at the off ramp light. The store is on 160th which is about 4-5 miles down. It's a distance. Don't know if you have Wild Oats near you. I know there is a Wild Oats in Tigard as well. Lingonberries is a little less expensive than Wild Oats. They have many different brands. I didn't take too long looking around but spent plenty of money. When I go out without my hubby I try to be quick so the baby doesn't get too tired before I get home. Usually he'll fall asleep on the way though. Let me know what you think of the store.

      They may want to also eliminate other possible causes for your symptoms/issues and are doing additional tests.  Here is info about blood tests for celiac disease--if positive an endoscopy where biopsies of your intestinal villi are taken to confirm is the typical follow up.

      In the Europe the new protocol for making a celiac disease diagnosis in children is if their tTg-IgA (tissue transglutaminase IgA) levels are 10 times or above the positive level for celiac disease--and you are above that level. According to the latest research, if the blood test results are at certain high levels that range between 5-10 times the reference range for a positive celiac disease diagnosis, it may not be necessary to confirm the results using an endoscopy/biopsy: Blood Test Alone Can Diagnose Celiac Disease in Most Children and Adults TGA-IgA at or Above Five Times Normal Limit in Kids Indicates Celiac Disease in Nearly All Cases No More Biopsies to Diagnose Celiac Disease in Children! May I ask why you've had so many past tTg-IgA tests done, and many of them seem to have been done 3 times during short time intervals?

      This may sound ridiculous but is this supposed to say Celiacs? I looked up Coeliacs because you never know, there’s a lot of diseases related to a disease that they come up with similar names for. It’s probably meant to say Celiacs but I just wanted to confirm.

      I was told it was to see how much damage has been caused. But just told CT with contrast not any other name for it.
