So this morning I went to meet up with a doctor in Yorkton (for those who forget, its about 25 miles from here, hes not a specialist, but my family doctor here doesnt want me waiting for Regina..)..

It was actually a very short consultation -- he read the letter from my family doc, just wanted me to verify a few things -- asked me how long I've had Celiac, when i've last had an endoscopy, when i've hlast had a coloscopy, any other medical conditions I have (I said asthma), etc -- then he looked in my butt (I hate that!) when I told him about having bloody diarrhea since April -- gave me a prescription for the laxitives to drink..

He sent me for some bloodwork there in Yorkton, even a Celiac screen? (not sure why, maybe because I said no biopsies were positive)...

From what he wrote on that sheet he clearly has the same point of view as my family doc, because ya know on the top of that sheet for bloodwork how they write your condition or whatever, he put "Celiac/ ? Crohn's" ...

Not only do I have to have a colonoscopy (which he says they will only give me a needle so I dont feel it, not put me to sleep like I'd prefer?), hes going to do the barium follow up (which the sheet says can take up to 4 hours). I've had the barium x-rays before, but still :( ...

Dont know the date yet, the hospital is going to to call me when I'm scheduled, but this doctor says he'll tell them its urgent ...

I know a lot of others have problems bigger than mine, but I'm having trouble accepting all of this. I feel like crying, its more than I can handle. Makes me feel dumb ...

Thats all, I will keep you updated when i'm scheduled for...

Sounds like he is aggresive in his approach...which could be a good thing....considering my husband's experiences were with non aggressive doctors who did nothing but take our money...

hugs!!!! :) You'll make it through! He may have put celiac? crohn's? to justify doing the test [in the eyes of the insurance company].

I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy July 18. :o

As much as you want some answers sometimes, it's always scary when that kind of stuff is coming up for sure. Nervous is normal. But he's taking you seriously and hopefully, he'll be able to give you some definitive answers after it's over.

Lisa,

I'm sorry that you are going through all this; it really sucks. But, as everyone else has said, you are really lucky that you have a dr who listens to you. Hopefully he will find out what the problem is soon, so that you can start feeling better.

Take care

Danielle

Your response on this matter is what I expect. You’ve had a similar episode years ago, but this one is lasting longer!

I'd like to clarify: Is the pain you describe in the area just below your chest constant, or does it only appear when you start moving?
