New Grist Beer & Hershey Syrup

I just wanted to let everyone know that I ordered a case of New Grist by calling The Corkscrew at 217-337-7704. I first left a message there then someone else called back and took my order. The whole process took about 1.5 weeks. They were very friendly. It is expensive... about $62 for the case. For me it is worth it for now. I am a beer lover, and now I can have a beer that I think tastes like a real beer a few nights a week - or more :) New Grist is excellent and I would have enjoyed it even before I found out I have celiac disease.

Also... is regular Hershey syrup in the plastic bottle gluten free?

Congrats on the beer! :D

Hershey's Syrup is gluten-free. Hershey's is a company that will clearly list gluten in the ingredients.

That is pretty expensinve. I'm so glad the liquor store down the street carries it. They have a big stack of cases right with all the other beers I used to get. Costs me about 26 bucks including tax for a case.

New Grist is available at Whole Foods for about $7.50 a six pack.

That is a decent price. I got some in Charlotte NC and it was $10 a six. Won't be drinking too much at that price. The retailers in some places must have it confused with gasoline!

My guess is unless you live in the Midwest the supplies are limited for now. Even if it becomes available in your particular area it probably won't stay in stock very long. I liked the product but have only been able to get it once. I live in Virginia and had to get mine in North Carolina. Maybe the rumor that AB is going to produce a gluten-free beer is true. Let's hope so. Good luck.

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
