Quintoa Flour

I have found very few recipes that call for quintoa flour and I have a lot of it. What can I use it in. Thank you

I've used it in relatively small quantities, added to 4-flour bread mix (Bette Hagman) for breads. Haven't experimented with it much otherwise so I'll be interested to see what people suggest. I've also used flaked quinoa to make mock oatmeal bread & cookies, & that was yummy, but won't use up your flour!

I just use it for one of the other flours. I also don't use it in great quantity - it has a strong flavor - but in place of up to 1/4 of the other flours.

I have the flakes, but no recipe for these mock oatmeal cookies I keep seeing people talk about.

Quinoa Flour is a good way to bulk up the protein in any recipe. I use about 1/4 per cup of flour if I want to incoporate it. I haven't used it in a long time, I have trouble finding it. It has a different flavor, but works pretty well in most things. Here's the recipe I made with it (I think it was on the pkg) only I used soy sour cream:

Sour Cream Fudge Cupcakes

Ingredients:

1/4 cup Unsalted Butter

1/2 cup Water

1/4 cup Cocoa Powder

1 cup Sugar

1 1/4 cups Organic Quinoa Flour

1/2 tsp Baking Powder

1/2 tsp Baking Soda

1/2 tsp Salt

2 Eggs

1/2 tsp Vanilla

1/4 cup Sour Cream

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Place the butter and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, remove from heat and whisk in the cocoa powder. Sift together the sugar, quinoa flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add the cooled cocoa mixture, egg yolks, vanilla and sour cream and blend well. Beat the egg whites until stiff but not dry. Fold into batter.

Spoon into a muffin tin lined with paper cupcake liners. Bake for 20 minutes, or until a cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.

Makes 12 gorgeous cupcakes

      Shingles is dormant and related to chicken pox when one has had in the past.Shingles comes out when stress is heightened.I had my 3rd Shingles in 2023.

      Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute.
