Casein Reaction Or Glutening?

I feel really poorly :( Sunday afternoon, I had a hypoglycemic attack (I haven't been diagnosed, but I know that's what it was), then all Sunday night I had a headache. I woke up yesterday with a bad stomach, D, brain fog, exhaustion. In the afternoon I felt a bit better. This morning, I woke up really achey, feel exhausted and the brain fog's still there a bit. Feeling quite emotional too.

Thing is though, I didn't have any gluten over the weekend (I made everything we ate) so I could only have got sick from cc or some other intolerance.

I have mostly been dairy free, simply bacause dairy tends to bloat me up and is too fatty for me. On Saturday however, I ate loads of regular (gluten-free) chocolate. the excuse being we had visitors! I've never reacted to dairy like that before, so don't know if it's cc or if it could be a casein problem.

Do others react to casein like that?

i want to be able to figure it out, as I do have a little dairy from time to time, as at the weekend if we've got visitors and buy cream etc. I figure, I'll have a bit of vbloating and then be fine. But if this is how I'm going to react to casein, I don't want to go there ever again!

If I do the enterolab testing, do I need to be eating dairy for a sensitivity to show?

Thanks!

Susie

If you have been having small amounts of dairy here and there, and never had a massive reaction like this, I'd guess cc is more likely?

My casein symptoms are pretty much the same as gluten.

The easiest way to test casein is give it up completely for a while, then eat some. Trust me, you'll know!

My casein reactions are the same as gluten. I get that hypoglycemic thing, too. <_< It's a good idea to see what you're dietary response is, or you can do Enterolab's test even if you're off it, at least that's the way it is for gluten.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
