Does anyone have the symptom of bowel movement urgency when ingesting gluten?

...sorry to get so personal -- just trying to figure out what's causing this.

Thanks!

I get this without even getting gluten. Usually the first BM of the day, more so than the others. My doctor once explained that the "need to go" comes from a feeling of "stretching" in receptors in the area, and some are set to trigger that feeling on less stretching than others. So it can happen even without gluten.

YES. I rarely had diarrhea, sometimes had constipation, but ALWAYS had that feeling of "I have to go". :( Sometimes I really did, sometimes it was just gas, sometimes it was just mucous. I realized the cramping, bloating and gas gave me that sensation of 'having to go', even after my rectum was empty. Very frustrating and confusing. :o AFTER avoiding gluten for 3 months and then dairy for 3 weeks, I finally learned what a normal 'need to eliminate' sensation feels like. So the bad news is everytime I have a gluten slip, I get that frustrating 'urgency'. The good news is when I've been gluten-free/CF for a while I experience less frequent, but more appropriate signals. ;)

I have this whether I've had a gluten accident or not. I was told after I had my gallbladder out (5 years ago) thatthis was a common side affect, so I just figured that was causing it...

From their website I see "organic barley leaf powder" as an ingredient. Keep in mind that the gluten is in the kernel, and not in the leaves. https://drinkag1.com/about-ag1/ingredients/ctr

Before the rise of social media we were well known by a lot of doctors and were recommended by many, especially our Safe & Forbidden Lists, but as doctors get younger and younger this is probably not happening as much as before.

Thanks Scott I will definitely check my vitamins and minerals to see what I am missing so then I can supplement. I was very concern about my Meniers syntoms and i tryed to find some alive. Now im just realizing that my celiac is provably the root cause of my Meniers none of the 12 doctors I saw told me anything about this.  This web site is so helpful, thanks to people like you we can get answers.

Vitamin D deficiency can contribute to rib pain. Chest pain stemming from the ribs ccould be costochondritis, which involves inflammation of the cartilage connecting the ribs to the breastbone. This pain can range from mild to severe, potentially mimicking heart attack symptoms, and is often worsened by breathing or movement. Other potential causes include muscle strain, rib fractures, or even referred pain from other conditions.  It will also help to chose vegetables low in omega 6.
