Ahhh-HA!! Got the other Skybar-type bar!

I can't believe I found it!!

It was the Seven Up Bar, w/ 7 segments, natch.

That one looks vaguely familiar...

Baaaahhhhh, heinousness of all heinousness! Our toilet totally overflowed today and the water was seeping through to the basement! Lots of cleaning up <_<. I don't know why it happened. Pre-diagnosis days when the toilet was getting rather over used I might have understood but this was so random -- just flushed and up came a water volcano. As we were mopping up the water I was thinking about how horrible it would be to be glutened with a malfunctioning bathroom. This cleanup would have been a lot grosser, and possibly biohazardous had it occurred after/during a glutening.

I think I have learned my lesson that if it's yellow I should let it mellow.

Ugh--what a mess! :o

Well, Alex...You're approaching 300 posts......

This is true :P

HOLY HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My mountain is on fire! There's a freaking brush fire and one of the stations said 75 acres have burned since last night. This smoke, OMG, is not doing good things for me right now.

This would be the mountain that is my gorgeous view off my back deck. I wish I could take a pic, I can't find my darn camera. The fire is on the opposite face from us right now.

It shouldn't be. The smoke is yucky, though. They've got a ton of guys up there working on this... say a prayer for 'em because right now it's still out of control.

I went off to find an Armenian/English online dictionary/translator so that I could show you that I know how to order beer in Armenian, too . . . but I have to have the Armenian font . . . I don't think I have that  . . . so I'll go with the old standby of speaking loudly and slower . . .

GAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! "too many blocks of text"

now eliminating quotes......

Do you use Notepad at all currently?

I say start by opening Notepad, alt-tabbing back to browser, use <CNTL> A & <CNTL> C to swiftly "highlight all" and Copy, alt-tab back to notepad and <CNTL> V to Paste.

 oh my gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhd that REALLY made my dingo-brain hurt...............

Bev's av and slogan - ha!

wonder what people think of these avs/slogans? remember when we first joined, all avs were just..kinda normal? *snort*

Ok, I updated my av. It's kinda like a club jacket now. Where's Alex, make sure she knows!

 club jacket? Alex? what in hell? Susie is confuzzled...looks like some sort of green absinthian neo-mist to me........

SARAH!!!!!!! The fire!!!!!!!!! :o Well, just come out to California today, we'll take care of you!!!!!! :)

OK, so whilst I was out googling "green phaerie", I found this Open Original Shared Link . . . almost became my av but I just couldn't pull the trigger on that one . . . what if she was a member of the forum??

That link was the first listing. The second listing led me to a little known thread called "Tickle Me Elbow" with a post from Ptaum!!!

gahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! look how she spelled Phaerie. Janet, what if you spelled it with the typical and requisite "F" - the "normal" way? OMG - look at that woman.....hmmmm <scratching chin> A member of this phorum? Well, she DOES look a bit gluten-brained to me....... ha ha

and BTW Janet, can't you.........keep your Will Ferrel but......put a glass o' the absinthe next to his big old head??????????? moo-hoo-hoo-ha ha ha ha :P

Ahhh-HA!! Got the other Skybar-type bar!

I can't believe I found it!!

It was the Seven Up Bar, w/ 7 segments, natch.

But I was wrong about all SORTS of things! It actually pre-dates the 7-Up drink, but in the 70s the candy company was bought by 7-Up and SHUT DOWN!!!!!

<new temporary av a Seven-up candy bar wrapper>

TOM! gitcher damned candy bar off a there and put some ABSINTHE up, dude!!!!!!!!!!!

This reminds me of something. Jack's teacher is putting together a big lesson plan for next month--it will involve history, geography and science. It is a section on the Guinea worm, a fascinating, but stomach-turning, parasite that resides in fetid water in parts of Africa and South America. We'll be creating a couple of big posters and slide shows, detailing how it enters the human body, and regrettably, how it leaves.... So, a warning....soon I may be imparting my new-found wisdom on this gross-me-out-the-door-but-its-kinda-cool subject. Okay, you've been warned.

 oh dear. This should be fun! Well, at least he's not doing a report on the famous Penis Fish. <ouch>

ALEX!!!!!!!!! premature fluids? look out!!!!!!!! <(h)anus>

Yesterday I spent....gulp....$150.00 on a new pair of running shoes. They are apparently comprised of the industry's most sophisticated technology for cushioning, support and streamlining.

It is hilarious, really--I am so far away from competitive running, but because my feet and ankles are hurting now when I jog or do a class, I immediately think that tossing money at the problem will solve things completely. Got nothing to do with the fact that I am now IN MY FORTIES, with joints that are reminding me of such....

I know that the two young salesmen were having a great guffaw as I left the sports store yesterday with my high-tech, lithium-plated, air-jetted and polyfoam-cushioned shoes under my arm. Guffawing and chortling...."Man....who 'she think she is, man? Some Olympian's MOTHER, maybe..."

*snort*

All done moving computers! I am so dusty and so sweaty! yuck!

Hey!! Amanda, great news: that counts as a workout. You may skip the gym this evening. :)

Do tell!

We should adapt our own language for the Silly thread!

Yes, I second this. Actually, the Ripper is absolutely fascinated with languages, is taking both French and Spanish at school, and in response to all of the frustrating rules and exceptions to said rules, he has been working on the development of a new language. I will check out what he's got so far....perhaps we can begin to work it into our posts. He's got about five pages of vocabulary done (all the way to the letter "H", I believe), but when I glanced at the words he was creating last month, I was struck by how very much they reflect just the linguistic needs of a 10 year-old. A smattering:

Bum--bummo

Computer--comptutro

Cookie-Cuquo

Dog--canino

Kick--Kica

Punch--Punca

No superfluous words like "house", "food" or "live".......

My mountain is on fire! There's a freaking brush fire and one of the stations said 75 acres have burned since last night. This smoke, OMG, is not doing good things for me right now.

Sarah!!! What 's happening???? Is your house safe?!! Are any of the firefighters gorgeous??! <_<

You never know, Janet, when you'll need to do this.

Perhaps I could use this while I am with my dad in the hospital. Boy, lots and lots of old men there.....bah--don't need to actually order one....they're all over the place.....

So, went for a run in my million-dollar shoes. Boy, there were flames jus' flyin' off the back of my heels, let me tell you......uh, not...... <_<

You have quite a history of being susceptible to infection and unresponsive to antibiotics. You really... really... really... need to quit smoking. And go off dairy. You're already gluten-free, you can handle quitting dairy, too.

Welp indeed!......

The dairy sounds worse than it is ....can't help you with specific products but there are alot of yummy things out there. I actually got to really like rice milk  (I did dairy free for 1 yr)

Cows and goats products have less casein and no lactose (I never got on with goats milk - tasted 'lamby' to me )...but original Greek feta cheese is lush :P

The smoking......I know you've been thinking about it...you can only try right????

But gaaawd, doubly whammy..and NOT easy to stay focused I know when you have such um exuberant kids ;) testing your patience to the max

I may have trouble bringing the phunny for a while.

Sarah, Sarah, *tsk* *tsk*

Down but NEVER out remember?? ...just keep pooping in - you'll soon get yer phunny back ;)

Hope you pheel better soon

I get a weird slight-panic feeling in my chest when I think of going w/out. I hate how so many situations won't feel right w/out lighting up.

It's just GOTTA be done .. . .. .and I'm closer to ready all the time.

Ptaum, you're almost ready :)

Right up until the morning I slapped on the first patch I had that 'panicky' feeling.....you know..the:

After dinner,

When you've had a drink partook in the phaerie

Screaming row with 'Devil child' ....maybe not....but what I'm saying is I had real reservations, but it weren't as bad as I thought.

Breaking the psychological habit is the much harder part (the patches take care of the physical withdrawal)

Ever thought about hypnosis to break the habit???

Oh Lord  .....listen to me!! .....sound like one of them awful bloomin' patronising docs on the tv

<sorry>

Gawd! I never liked candy cigs--they always tasted like Pepto Bismol--ugh!

I was never allowed sweets candy as my Mum said it was bad for my teeth ;) ..............

OMG - I have these pants on and they're REALLY LOOSE today!!!!!!!!

This brought about a slight chortle as 'pants' over 'ere ain't trousers...it's yer knickers

Susie's got baggy knickers!!!!!!!

what in hell am I going to wear?

OMG- a new coronation is almost upon us. I'm placing my bets on Nikki (cuz she's 7 hours ahead of us and 10 ahead of you californicators Californians OR Amanda and Em cuz they're up way before the rest of us lazy slugs!!!!!!!!!

DON'T bet on it Bev.....didn't get on here 'til 4.30pm today  (also lazy SLUG...but with no good reason to be  )

Poor you..phlued and Lymed :(

Yes, eat plenty of salted crisps chips is what I suggest

It shouldn't be. The smoke is yucky, though. They've got a ton of guys up there working on this... say a prayer for 'em because right now it's still out of control.

Gahhhhhhh... The fire is completely out of these guys' control. We don't GET fires like this here, it's rare. It's spread right up to the top of the mountain now- it'll probably spread over to my side soon.

We are safe, as far as the fire itself goes. We're not actually ON the mountain, we're a couple miles away. Our house is on a hill, and the mountain is perfectly framed by my kitchen windows. The smoke is crazy, 5 times worse than it was this morning.

But it's not too-too bad at my house. The wind is supposed to continue picking up throughout the day, which everyone is worried about. I don't know which way it's supposed to come from though. If the wind starts pushing the smoke our way much, I'm going to take the kids to my mom's.

This particular mountain is little, relative to other mountains. There are only about 2 dozen houses dotted around on it.... The evacuations are voluntary, but so far no one is leaving.

Ridgewalker Contributor

BTW, Tom, I meant to reply to you earlier and got distracted...

I think I am going to quit Monday morning. I know I shouldn't put it off like that, but the kids will be back in school, and I'll have the weekend to rest up a little.

I am flat out exhausted right now. Being sick so long is just wiping me out. I just want to sleeeeeeeeeep all the time.

Sorry for being a whiny-butt. :P

I just thought I'd update this post. My father has had some issues with his heart rythym and we found giving him an electrolyte drink plus a vitamin D supplement with extra calcium containing food (yoghurt) made a big difference, and very quickly. My own problems with ectopic heartbeats started up again with warmer weather so I thought I'd take a leaf out of his book, and now, for the second time, after just one Phizz Electrolyte Drink, and a dose of vitamin D (Fultium D 800 x 4) with a milkshake, my ectopics disappeared within the hour.   Probably the Phizz drink rather than the D with calcium, but maybe it all helped?  Just mentioning this in case anyone is looking for answers.

Do you have the standard range for the test results you received? A level of anti-tTG2 antibodies at least 10x the standard range is almost certainly (>98%) due to coeliac disease. Moderately raised levels can be caused by other conditions as well as coeliac disease. Accuracy of the No-Biopsy Approach for the Diagnosis of Celiac Disease in Adults: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis It is possible to have latent or early stage coeliac disease without histological changes visible by microscope. As has been suggest in this thread, if the repeat test comes up negative and serology is high, request an HLA genetic test from your specialist. Only 40 % of the population carries an HLA gene variant enabling the development of coeliac disease - if you test negative for this, it is quite unlikely that you have coeliac disease.

Hi @Ginger38, By now you know that these things improve without gluten. I once saw an interview with a corporation executive where he proudly declared that his wheat products are more addictive than potato chips. Dr Fuhrman (Eat to Live) said find foods that are friendly to you to be friends with.
    • cristiana
Hi @CC90 Ah... that is very interesting.  Although it is very annoying for you to have to go through it all again, I would say that almost sounds like an admission that they didn't look far enough last time?   I could be wrong, but I would not be at all surprised if they find something on the next attempt.  Coeliac damage can be very patchy, as I understand it, so that's why my own gastroenterologist always likes to point out that he's taken lots of samples!  In the kindest possible way (you don't want to upset the person doing the procedure!) I'd be inclined to tell them what happened last time and to ask them in person to take samples lower down, as  if your health system is anything like the one in my country, communication between GPs, consultants and hospitals isn't always very good.  You don't want the same mistake to be made again. You say that your first endoscopy was traumatic?  May I ask, looking at your spelling of coeliac, was this done at an NHS hospital in England?  The reason for the question is that one of my NHS diagnosed friends was not automatically offered a sedative and managed without one.  Inspired by her, I tried to have an endoscopy one time, in a private setting, without one, so that I could recover quicker, but I had to request sedative in the end it was so uncomfortable.    I am sorry that you will have to go through a gluten challenge again but to make things easier, ensure you eat things containing gluten that you will miss should you have to go gluten free one day. 😂 I was told to eat 2 slices of normal wholemeal bread or the equivalent every day in the weeks before , but I also opted for Weetabix and dozens of Penguin chocolate biscuits.  (I had a very tight headache across my temple for days before the procedure, which I thought was interesting as I had that frequently growing up. - must have been a coeliac symptom!)  Anyway, I do hope you soon get the answers you are looking for and do keep us posted.
