Need Another Recipe

We had catfish for supper tonight and I was craving some hush puppies to go with them. I found a recipe on-line and they came out more like "harsh" puppies. They were very dense and heavy. Does anyone have a recipe I can try next time so I won't have to worry about dropping one on my foot and ending up in the ER. :o

what are hush puppies?

Hush puppies are small cornbread balls. Long John Silvers serves them with fish. They have garlic and onion, you make a batter and drop them by spoonfuls into oil and fry them. They are usually really good.

You cracked me up! :D

Sorry I don't have a good recipe. I love hushpuppies, but the closest thing I make to them is a southern version...very crispy and flat, not round and thick. But they sure go well with fish, etc.!

hahahahha you made my day i laughed so hard when i read this, i want the recipe you have, i cant find any gluten-free recipes they all call for cornmeal which contains flour :o

      Shingles is dormant and related to chicken pox when one has had in the past.Shingles comes out when stress is heightened.I had my 3rd Shingles in 2023.

      Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute.
