Follow Up Endoscopy (and While We're At A Colonoscopy)

I go for my 1st follow up endoscopy on Wednesday. I've never had a colonoscopy done, and my doctor had said when I was first diagnosed that she would like to do one on me when I have my next endoscopy. I guess she actually wrote that on my chart because she didn't seem to forget. LOL!!

Not so psyched about the prep for the colonoscopy, but oh well.

I feel great, so I'm hoping the results of the endoscopy show my intestine is healing well. (I had total viloscopy; and the doctor had said I was a really extreme case).

Hope all is well and healing nicely!

I had both colonoscopy and endoscopy done at the same time back in April. It combo procedure wasn't bad at all, but you're right, that darned prep is not that fun, lol.

Good luck jillian! should all celiacs get a folllow up endoscopy and if so when. i really wouldnt want to. i hated it so much cause i woke up in the middle which was a little traumatizing :(

      Welcome to the forum, @yellowstone! The most common ones seem to be dairy (casein), oats, eggs, soy and corn. "Formed" meat products (because of the "meat glue" used to hold their shape) is a problem for some. But it can be almost anything on an individual basis as your sensitivity to rice proves, since rice is uncommonly a "cross reactor" for celiacs. Some celiacs seem to not do well with any cereal grains.

      What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.

      Shingles is dormant and related to chicken pox when one has had in the past.Shingles comes out when stress is heightened.I had my 3rd Shingles in 2023.
