Spaghetti Sauce

Every brand of spaghetti sauce states "tomato paste." Is there a specific brand of spaghetti sauce where the tomato paste doesn't include wheat flour? I have yet to see a brand of spaghetti sauce where it states what makes up their tomato paste so I just haven't bought any. I would love to have some on-hand in the pantry for one of those "quick fix" meals!

Most spaghetti sauces are gluten free. All Classico spaghetti sauces are gluten free per their website's statement. I believe Ragu is gluten free also, but double check that. I don't think tomato paste generally contains wheat flour. I could be wrong though.

Tomato paste is safe. it should not be a problem. I buy canned tomato paste all the time, and I think the ingredients are only tomatoes, maybe water, and salt. Tomato paste is not thickened by a flour. It is tomatos that have been cooked down for a long time.

On the whole, there are a lot more gluten free spaghetti sauces than ones that are not safe. We eat it in our house at least once a week. I have used versions of Ragu, Prego, etc. etc.

Also: for general knowledge, due to the Food Labeling Law of 2006, if there WAS wheat flour (in anything), it must now be listed. Wheat is considered an 8 main allergen and is required to be listed. There can still be some lag in labels, but in general, you should be safe.

Hope this helps and you can now enjoy spag sauce!

I use Ragu Regular with Mushrooms with no problems.

Tomato paste is usually tomatoes only. I buy canned tomato paste and tomatoes are the only ingredient on the can.

If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly flareups.

No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done recently?

Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.
