I am new to the Atlanta area and I think I have Celiac Disease and I am not even sure what type of doctor to go to, much less who to go to. Any help would be appreciated.

Cynthia Rudert is a top celiac doc. If nolt her, you'd want to see a GI.

Thanks! But I heard that she does not take insurance, and since I am not independently wealthy, I need to find a doctor that does take insurance.

I did hear she was the best though.

I went to 10 different dr's in ATL before I finally went to a GI last year and he immediately dx me with celiac (blood tests and endoscopy). His name is Eric Steinberg and he is near Northside Hospital. He has several patients with celiac, although he admits to not being an expert on it (I know more than he does now about the "healing" and diet), but he would definitely know what tests to run. And he takes insurance (I had tried Cynthia too but didn't want to pay out of pocket that much). Good luck! There are several great support groups here in atlanta also - I can't remember the websites right now but if you google it I"m sure you'll find them. Let me know if not.

Thanks rmj when I first rang up it was we can't do it without , but I talked to a lovely lady and she sorted it all out for me, so it pays to be persistent , I would have had to decline if I hadn't been given the water option too , so yes I'm glad too 😌

I’m so glad they listened to your concerns!  I hope you get some answers from the MRI.

Had my MRI today I didn't have to have the manitol with my allergy's , I just had a litre of water , they were great with my concerns , so let's see if anything comes of if will keep posted once I have results 👍

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.
