Hi all,

Im Greg, a 28 male from England. Ive been viewing this forum for a while now and have been "gluten lite" since the New Year. I have never been tested for celiac disease / GI.

What started me looking at gluten was a forum i joined for pelvic pain / prostatitus that i developed nearly 2 years ago. A lot of men got much better going off gluten (something to do with mast cells - i.e. it eases inflammation). Suffice to say I have been virtually pain free for a month - no pain! I ahve a history of IBS, really bad gas in the evening & in the last year i developed peripherel neuropathy mainly in my feet, hands anf face (its calm at the moment). I also get eye twitches, muscle spasms occassionally, vibrating intestines. I thought all these symptoms came from anxiety caused by my pelvic pain condition. Maybe now it is indeed gluten?

Strange thing happened today - had a baked potato with coleslaw & cheese & bad palpitations after! I have suffered from palpitations for years & they always puzzle me because they don't correlate with stress or anxiety.

Just wondering about the palpitations after eating really? Coleslaw - gluten??

Thanks

Greg

A lot of people who have a problem with gluten and wheat also have a problem with dairy. The cheese may be the culprit.

Try the pulse test next time you have dairy.

Pulse Testing: This method measures the pulse rate before and after eating a meal. If the pulse rises or varies more than 16 beats after the meal or any time during the next 24 hours in a resting state, exposure to an offending food can be suspected.

Good luck and welcome to the board!

To be honest i had a mini gluten binge for the first time in weeks on the weekend too. But yes it a

maybe dairy. Can most people go back on dairy eventually?

Boy - very tired now, esophegus aches, palpitations! I had doubts before but i really think I must be GI

Gluten can cause a delayed reaction, so that may be your problem.

A lot of people can go back on dairy as the intestine heals. It depends if you're lactose intolerant or casein intolerant. If lactose intolerant, you'll most likely be able to eat dairy again. Casein is more like gluten intolerance and is permanent.

Did you find out the ingredients in the cole slaw? Some salad dressings are not gluten-free.

How cloesly can GAD / anxiety symptoms mirror celiac disease/GI?

Thanks

Tsk, tsk, tsk, you need to get in the habit of reading ingredients for every product you use! ;) If you didn't cut the potato yourself, the knife may have been contaminated.

I don't know the answer to your other questions. I know gluten can affect the mind.

But M&M's contain milk, and would not be at all like a Tootsie Roll.

I appreciate you validating me because medical is an issue and it's not ok at all they they do this. Some days I just want to call the news media and just call out these doctors especially when they are supposed to be specialist Downplaying when gluten-free when they should know gluten-free is false negative. Now dealing with other issues and still crickets for disability because I show no signs of celiac BECAUSE IM GLUTENFREE! Actively dealing with sibo and skin issues.Depression is the key because thats all they know, im depressed because medical has caused it because of my celiac and related issues. I should have never ever been employed as a bus driver. After 3 years still healing and ZERO income desperately trying to get better but no careteam for celiac other than stay away frim wheat! Now im having care because my head is affected either ms or meningioma in go in tomorrow again for more scans.I know im slowly dying and im looking like a disability chaser

M&M Peanuts. About the same calories and sugar while M&M Peanuts have fiber, potassium, iron and protein that Tootsie Rolls ("We are currently producing more than 50 million Tootsie Rolls each day.") don't. Click the links to compare nutritional values.  Both are made with sugar, not high fructose corn syrup.  I use them as a gluten free substitute for a peanut butter sandwich.  Try her on grass fed, pasture fed milk. While I get heartburn at night from commercial dairy milk, I do not from 'grassmilk'.

I see it everyday on my feeds.  They go out and buy gluten-free processed products and wonder why they can't heal their guts.  I don't think they take it as a serious immune disease. They pick up things off the internet which is so far out in left field.  Some days I would just like to scream.  So much better when we had support groups and being able to teach them properly. I just had an EMA blood test because I haven't had one since my Doctor moved away.  Got test results today, doctor ordered a D3 vitamin test.  Now you know what  type of doctors we have.  Now I will have to pay for this test because she just tested my D3 end of December, and still have no idea about my EMA.
