It's Easter and I always look forward to the black jelly beans. I was wondering if anyone knows of any gluten free ones?

Jelly Bellies last I checked were gluten-free. I think there is one flavor that was mentioned that wasn't but don't remember which it was so I would suggest emailing them to verify for sure. There is one brand that is gluten-free, CF, SF and kosher that I get all the time but my recent glutening has blown the name out of my brain. I will post it later after I check.

It was Gimbels, hope I spelled it right. I get them at Walmart, the ones my local Walmart have contain that 'produced in a facility that uses wheat....etc, so I go for the Gimbels just to be on the safe side.

Jelly Belly jelly beans are all gluten free now. Here's the statement from their website:

Yes they are. We do not use any wheat, rye, barley, or oats in the recipe for Jelly Belly jelly beans. The modified food starch used in the manufacture of our jelly bean candies is cornstarch.

Wal-mart's GV brand of jelly beans are gluten free as well.

Hi wowzer, Happy Easter!

Ya' know, UMaine is kind of notorious for black jelly beans because of a thread on our local listserve with said subject that went on for years and up to about as many posts as the coping with thread has. The subject came to be a catch-all for any topic. Are you an alum of UMaine by any chance?

Just wondering,

Margaret :)

Thank you for your help on the jelly beans. Sorry I'm not an alum from Maine. Wendy Happy Easter

Aw, don't be sorry about the UMaine thing, but thanks for the anthropological data anyway. And keep on keeping on with those Jelly Bellies. Goodness, there. :)

Blech, licorice.

I don't know about the others, but - as mentioned - jelly bellies are gluten-free.

I guess you either love or hate the taste of black licorice. I always look forward to the black jelly beans every Easter. So far I've only found gluten ones. I'll just have to get those Jelly Bellies to take care of the craving!

Was the card itself lost or just the record or both?

We were flabergasted that the owner would not acknowledge a $50 e-gift card I purchased for my celiac wife. My wife tried to open it in the store and was informed there had been a system change and they could not find the record. No worries, she was told, just talk to management. Six months later, and numerous absurd back and forths, and the owner literally informs me there have been "bad actors", so she can't make good on this lost gift card. In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.

Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen  I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce.   Something is making my pain so much worse  I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs.  Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever would do. I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding
