~Update~

I have only been eating fruit, veggies, meat and salad because I noticed that I was still feeling really sick and I was having the big D. Well that all changed and I have been feeling GREAT.

Here is my problem... I treid to incorportate potatoes back into my diet the other day. That was a big mstake. I had a terrible stomach ach and the big D. My guts were so noisy all day.

I want to know why, if there is any explanation, my body doesn't do well with grains or potatoes? I eliminated ths stuff because after lookin back into my food journal I was still having problems with just meat, potatoes, rice, veggies, salad, fruit. So I took the grains/potatoes out.

Will my body ever be able to handle them again? It is so hard to explain to others why I can't even eat rice or potatoes, let alone myself. I say because it makes me feel better when I do, but WHY does it make me feel better? Just curious.

Oh Ya! That potatoes test was just for that day...no more for now! Looks like fruit, veggies, salads and meats for me.

Kimberly,

You might be sensitive to night shades. This includes potatoes, tomatoes, and peppers. Hope this helps.

I'm sensitive to all grains. But can tolerate small amounts of things like rice occassionally. But I can't have it on a steady basis or I'll deteriorate. So wait until you've had a healthy gut for several months then try again.

I (eventually) discovered I had a severe sensitivity to nightshades, but thankfully grains are ok. Did you cut both grains and potatoes at the same time? Have you tried having grain but not potato? Also, there is a big difference between whole grain rice and white rice. I find I do MUCH better with the whole grain. Having only white rice doesn't work well for me at all. If I have mostly whole grains with a little white rice, then it's ok.

Absolutely my point with Kerrigan, the owner. She stood to secure many years of faithful patronage by simply inviting us in for a pastry or lunch. Or by simply producing another $50 e-card based on trust. We would have been highly satisfied. We are limited to a few restaurants in the area, and that would have been one. It was very disappointing, esp to my wife, to realize we can't patronize the place anymore.

You would think any business would see the wisdom of honoring a $50 gift certificate on the basis of customer satisfaction alone, apart from any questions about software glitches.

So there was no physical, plastic card involved, correct?

When my wife attempted to open the online card in the store with a cashier, it would not work. We then showed the owner the link to the card, the online receipt that I got upon purchase, and even my bank statement confirming the purchase. That did not satisfy her, since she said she needed the link to open to reveal the gift ID num. They even admitted they had a systems problem around that time.
