are they related to celiac disease? Anyone have them? Let me explain.

I was reading a post below where someone was talking about blisters and the purple marks they leave after. I get these. I never understood why. I get them on my abdomen mostly. They are painful, sometimes they have puss other times not, they take forever to heal and always leave a purple mark. Eventually they do go away but it takes months.

Sorry for asking about all of these things but I am just getting lightbulbs going off in my head with the things you all are going through that I am experiencing too that baffle me.

Thanks to all of you who responded to my initial post! I appreciate it!

Please tell me though...those "things", are they related to the celiac disease or just some strange thing I have?

The only skin-related problem I have had thus far- and not since I've eliminated wheat- were welts across my tummy that looked as if I had been whipped. The doctor saw them and said that they were hives.

Jen I can't say for sure that this is my spot as well. But I get them now and again, they can appear anywhere and they leave a purple mark that lasts a long time, and the actual sore does take a while to heal, it will either has puss or not. My husband calls them "one of those spots."

I have thought they have been of late related to accidental gluten consumption. But who know.

They could be DH, you may want to look in the dermatitis herpeformis section and also you might want to post this question there.

The spot you photographed looks a lot like the DH outbreaks I had pregluten free.

My sister and I both have those spots, but on our legs and arms. Ours have never gone away, I have had one on each leg for years, every now and again I nic them with a razor :angry: and aggravate them!

I got three on my foot, right on top of the tendons that go to my toes. So they rub all day in shoes, and are conveniently place so as to even rub in flip-flops! This is the last reaction to fade from my glutenings.... takes at least a month. These are itching and hurting like crazy, too, with the sweat and rubbing at work in tennis shoes. :(

      Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic.       Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce. Something is making my pain so much worse I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs. Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever...

      We were flabergasted that the owner would not acknowledge a $50 e-gift card I purchased for my celiac wife. Six months later, and numerous absurd back and forths, and the owner literally informs me there have been "bad actors", so she can't make good on this lost gift card. In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.

We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding
