Nashville Restaurants

Hi everyone....I tried this question in the travel forum...no response. So...here goes!

Any restaurants, besides the chains (outback, etc) available in the Nashville area? I am staying near the airport. Any help would be appreciated. And, if there is a health food store in and around, that would save some packing and space in my bag if I could just buy some items there. Thanks. again...Gina

of course there are the obvious chains, and I also have contacted J.Alexanders and they will accomidate you as well. Most everything there is made from scratch. There is a few different wild oats locations I guess the one in Green Hills would be closer to your hotel than in cool springs. There is another Health food store called the Turnip truck it is located closer to down town you might can look it up on nashvillecitysearch.com. there is another restuarant I ate at last weekend called Cabanna it was pretty pricey about 20$ a plate but the food was great they had a special menu for me and it did not get sick! It is located near hillsboro village. I am not good with directions so my advice would be to look it up on the city search page I hope this helps some

If you can... take the General Jackson dinner cruise. Last time I was there I was trying the gluten-free diet, and we called the Chef ahead of the cruise and he actually knew what "gluten free" meant. He even came out 1/2 through the meal to make sure all was well with it. I hope the same chef is still there, was a lot of fun. :)

*disclaimer turned out I do not have celiac disease so I do not know how successful he was, just that they went out of their way to try...*

They may want to also eliminate other possible causes for your symptoms/issues and are doing additional tests.  Here is info about blood tests for celiac disease--if positive an endoscopy where biopsies of your intestinal villi are taken to confirm is the typical follow up.

In the Europe the new protocol for making a celiac disease diagnosis in children is if their tTg-IgA (tissue transglutaminase IgA) levels are 10 times or above the positive level for celiac disease--and you are above that level. According to the latest research, if the blood test results are at certain high levels that range between 5-10 times the reference range for a positive celiac disease diagnosis, it may not be necessary to confirm the results using an endoscopy/biopsy: Blood Test Alone Can Diagnose Celiac Disease in Most Children and Adults TGA-IgA at or Above Five Times Normal Limit in Kids Indicates Celiac Disease in Nearly All Cases No More Biopsies to Diagnose Celiac Disease in Children! May I ask why you've had so many past tTg-IgA tests done, and many of them seem to have been done 3 times during short time intervals?

@JettaGirl, "Coeliac" is the British spelling of "celiac". Same disease.

This may sound ridiculous but is this supposed to say Celiacs? I looked up Coeliacs because you never know, there’s a lot of diseases related to a disease that they come up with similar names for. It’s probably meant to say Celiacs but I just wanted to confirm.

I was told it was to see how much damage has been caused. But just told CT with contrast not any other name for it.
