I picked up a box of Vann's waffles at Walmart good price 1.79 they were right next to the Gluten free/wheat free boxs and i picked up the blueberry waffles didn't even look to verify that it said Gluten free and took them home started to eat them, the second time I ate them just happened to read the box for the millionth time as I had them in the toaster and started to eat realized that they had wheat in them, I though no wonder I still didnt feel that great after you know lathargic, heartburn a little tummy burn and now since I had them tuesday and last week I think that is was Monday last week that I had these and I then started to get my reacurring itching, burning I cant stop scratching on the side of my wrist and then the little blisters came which some went away or bursted while in the shower they were raised before the shower after they went down and then came the D  the lovley D very smelly  so smelly that the restroom that I used at work is a little hidden have to go through 2 doors just to get to it and someone wanted to use it and never ventured much farther that the first door they turned right around to find another bathroom, I thought wow it really must stink for it to reach the first door i was kinda embarresed but im glad that they didn't know that it was me. Of course I have not been diagnosed with DH but I think that it could be, I did go to the primary doctor to look at it and he just said exzama I told him that I had wheat last week and D now and he said well sound like that it could be connected and just to continue with my gluten free diet do what I can until something major happens, He looked at the report that the GI sent him and said that all looks normal and to keep an eye on thing if gets worse let him know, He didn't know what else to do because he is just a general doctor who has been my husband doctor since he was 3 month old so he has been practing for over 33 years. I don't have any hard feeling for my doc he is nice he is just a little old, but he does get what we need when the family is sick and very understanding to our needs and he was honest with me last year when he said I have no idea what Celiacs is and the gluten free diet consist of and his nurse gotta love her too just as old and when she had talked to me on the phone last year she said to me if you do have Celiac Disease or intolerance My goodness she said what on earth are you supposed to eat I couldn't help but laugh :lol: and I said I don't know you tell me. Wow I'm sorry ya'll I didn't realize how long I was going to be I just rambled on, I guess thats what you get for being tired from working all night and only getting 2-3hours of sleep no not because of D but because of the phone.

Wow, sorry to hear that you got glutened! If you'd told me, I wouldn't have been surprised to hear that there was a Vann's that was gluten-free. I guess that's why we're supposed to read everything... (you'd think that we could just get one of those buzzers on the wrist or something instead though to train us). I bought this thing at Target (or Menard's?) a de-smellifier -"True Air"- that's a plug in filter/fan. It doesn't pump chemicals in the air - no smells - it circulates the air through a filter. It's not perfect, but it does a help in a small space. I wonder if you could plug it in at work?

The discovery of the vitamin D receptor in multiple immune cell lineages, such as monocytes, dendritic cells, and activated T cells credits vitamin D with a novel role in modulating immunological functions and its subsequent role in the development or prevention of autoimmune diseases.  The Implication of Vitamin D and Autoimmunity: a Comprehensive Review

Definitely get vitamin D 25(OH)D.  Celiac Disease causes vitamin D deficiency and one of the functions of vitamin D is modulating the genes.  While we can survive with low vitamin D as an adaptation to living in a seasonal environment, the homeostasis is 200 nmol/L.  Vitamin D Receptors are found in nearly every cell with a nucleus, while the highest concentrations are in tissues like the intestine, kidney, parathyroid, and bone.  A cellular communication system, if you will. The vitamin D receptor: contemporary genomic approaches reveal new basic and translational insights  Possible Root Causes of Histamine Intolerance. "Low levels of certain nutrients like copper, Vitamins A, B6, and C can lead to histamine build up along with excess or deficient levels of iron. Iodine also plays a crucial role in histamine regulation."

I forgot to mention my suspicion of the high amount of glyphosate allowed to be used on wheat in USA and NZ and Australia. My weight was 69kg mid-2023, I went down to 60kg in March 2024 and now hover around 63kg (just after winter here in NZ) - wheat-free and very low alcohol consumption.

Hi Jess Thanks so much for your response and apologies for the long delay in answering. I think I must have been waiting for something to happen before I replied and unfortunately it fell off the radar... I have had an upper endoscopy and colonoscopy in the meantime (which revealed 'minor' issues only). Yes I do think histamine intolerance is one of the problems. I have been lowering my histamine intake and feeling a lot better. And I do think it is the liver which is giving the pain. I am currently taking zinc (I have had three low zinc tests now), magnesium, B complex, vitamin E and a calcium/Vitamin C mix. I consciously think about getting vitamin D outside. (Maybe I should have my vitamin D re-tested now...) I am still 100% gluten-free. My current thoughts on the cause of the problems is some, if not all, of the following: Genetically low zinc uptake, lack of vitamin D, wine drinking (alcohol/sulphites), covid, immune depletion, gastroparesis, dysbiosis, leaky gut, inability to process certain foods I am so much better than late 2023 so feel very positive 🙂

Hi and thank you very much for your detailed response! I am so glad that the protocol worked so well for you and helped you to get your health back on track. I've heard of it helping other people too. One question I have is how did you maintain your weight on this diet? I really rely on nuts and rice to keep me at a steady weight because I tend to lose weight quickly and am having a hard time envisioning how to make it work, especially when not being able to eat things like nuts and avocados. In case you have any input, woud be great to hear it! Friendly greetings.
