Hey everyone, hope all is well for yall!!

Ok have been under major stress (my daugher has been running from the law. she left her 3 kids and just took off told me she was going underground and going to change her name, she is a alcoholic and in a bad way now, she text messaged me yesterday and said she got raped in a park the night before last. It is so hard to think of your own kids living like that. Yesterday, I was reading the board and someone mentioned eating Progresso clam chowder and that it was gluten free. I had some so I called the manufacture myself to make sure. Thay told me it was gluten free so I tried it.

I only have a few staples that I eat mostly all the time so I dont think it was anything else I ate..Started feeling bad pretty much as soon as I ate it. Last night I broke out with DH.Its so painful I can hardly sit. Feel to bad to do anything, so now laying on my belly :(

I get real upset at my tummy, and cant eat anything!!! Drinking as much water as I can but even that makes me feel bad.

Sorry for the post kind of confusing even for me to read but feel to bad to redo it. Does anyone have any ideas to help me. Only been gluten-free for 21/2 months so I know I still make mistakes. my mind just wont work anymore..

I'm sooo sorry you are going through all of that! Alcoholism is very hard to deal with and effects everyone around teh person with the disease. I've been there...my son's father!

Stress definetly could be amplifying your symptoms!!!! Are you sure everything else is gluten-free????

Again, I'm sorry and we are all here for you if you need to vent/talk/cry!

So sorry for your woes- that is TOO hard! The stress could do it alone and then, if you're not used to the Progresso clam chowder", you could just be reacting because it's new. I find when I'm introducing new foods after so long on a strict diet that it takes awhile for me to get used to them. Assuming you've checked cosmetics, shampoos, hand creams and all that...

Peace to you and feel better soon!

Yes, it is so hard, she is only 25 years old. And in such a bad place. I am pretty sure that I am totally gluten-free, shampoo's , cream rinse, make up (not that i wear much) pots, pans spoons, can opener, cutting board, soaps, i just dont know what else to do. Guess it is just stress, I am not sleeping well, when she does text me its in the middle of the night, so i sleep with one ear on the phone. I am so afraid for her life. Not to mention the grandkids, they are so upset, the 6 year old boy started pooping his pants. he had not done that since 2. They live 2 hours away, its not that its that far I just feel so bad i have a hard time making it up there. :(

That is something I never thought of. I dont think I want to try it again. I break out with DH on my right buttock. Not something you want to live with. yes i have checked everything that I come into contact with. As far as I know of. Pretty new to this though, only 2 1/2 months.

Thanks for letting me rant!! BARB

Stress could be causing alot of problems... also are you sure shellfish is an okay thing for you to eat? Tons of people cannot do any type of shellfish...... plus creamed soups can cause reactions for some.

My brother is a recovered elky for 26 years now.... can you get her into a rehab center? even if you have to have her picked up by the police for loitering in a public place, someday she will thank you for it. Use tough love or she may ended up deceased... We did this after years of drug & booze abuse.. my mom would give him money for food cause his cabinets were bare because he used his $$$$ for booze & drugs, finally I had a police officer arrest him for some dumb little thing & committed him for three days ( law in our state) & then sent him off to rehab . He had no ins. so I went thru AA & they helped pay ...

good luck & I'll say a prayer for you..

Welcome to the forum, @yellowstone! The most common ones seem to be dairy (casein), oats, eggs, soy and corn. "Formed" meat products (because of the "meat glue" used to hold their shape) is a problem for some. But it can be almost anything on an individual basis as your sensitivity to rice proves, since rice is uncommonly a "cross reactor" for celiacs. Some celiacs seem to not do well with any cereal grains.

What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.
