I'll be visiting Denver at the end of the month to look at the university. Does anyone know of some good, gluten-free restaurants? I know there's Chipolte, PF Changs, Outback, Chili's, and healthfood stores of every type, but I wanted some othere suggestions. I've researched a bit online, but I wanted personal feedback. Thanks!

There's quite a few options here. Are you visiting DU?

One of our favorites is Noodles. They have pad thai or you can get rice noodles with just about anything you want with it. We eat at Noodles about once a week and they have always been very careful about preparing my daughter's food when you tell them gluten free (ask them to press the "allergen alert" button and tell them you are very sensitive).

If you have some money to spend, the Maggiano's in downtown Denver has been great for us as well. Call ahead and tell them you are gluten-free, then remind your server and the chef will come out and take your order. It's pricier, but you'll get good food and won't get glutened.

The Melting Pot (a fondue place) also has a gluten-free menu.

That's about all I can think of for now. Enjoy your trip!

Hey, I hope you enjoy your visit! There is a gluten-free Bakery called "Deby's" which makes good stuff, and also a pizza place "Beau Jo's" that makes gluten-free pizza! There is also a gluten-free indian food place, but it is in a suburb. :( But, they are really good! However, I recommend that you check out the Denver Chapter of the Celiac Sprue Assoc.

Click on "dietary" and then "dining out" --- they have a whole list of gluten-free places.

Happy dining!

I just moved to the Denver area and there are several great places!! I loved Maggiano's Little Italy, Beau Jo's Pizza, Deby's Gluten Free Bakery, and the places you listed that we all know (Outback, Chilis, PF Changs, etc). Hope you have a great trip!

Ohhhh thanks! That's so helpful. Now i'm not so worried :) I checked out the site and it was wonderful. Now lets just hope there's no CC on my visit. Lol. I'll be visiting CU, CUDHS, and CUCS. So excited!!!!!!!!!!

There is a Noodles extremely close to the CU campus in Boulder. My daughter had a performance there last Saturday and we stopped in for a quick dinner (we go to Noodles quite often near our house). I was worried with college kids there they might hose it up, but the order-taker-gal was really great and she pressed the "Alergen Alert" button 29 times for us! They were very careful and my daughter didn't get glutened on the opening night of her play. Thanks goodness!

Boulder would actually likely be a very Celiac-friendly place as it is very much a health-conscious place. I don't know about the CS campus, but Denver is also rather nice and abundant eating options as well.

Well this is going to come in very handy!

My parents and sister are landing at DIA on the 5th of nov, my first house guests after going gluten-free, and as this is the first time they have been out here I get to play host to the tourists...... No I will not be wearing that tacky tourist shirt either! I'll be the normal one standing next to them!! :P

Now as long as I take my list I can eat safe !

Now anyone know what my sister is talking about when she says some candy place in denver that makes ribbon candy while you watch?

My son's preschool went there on a field trip and had a great time!

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
