I don't know of any other KIX style cereal that is gluten-free and nut free. Perky'O's are gluten-free and nut free. They look like Cherrios. I think Glutino has another Cherrio style cereal that is gluten-free and nut free. You'll have to verify that one.

Would puffed rice cereals work?

I have a nut free child - anaphylactic to all nuts (PF). And a gluten-free/CF child. So I try hard to buy one food everyone can eat. Finding gluten-free food that is nut free and not made on shared equipment can be hard.

I am off to the health food store soon. This store has a great gluten-free cereal selection. If I see anything like KIX that is gluten-free and PF I'll try to write back.

Enviro Kids makes a Kix like cereal. I believe it is called Gorilla Munch but am not positive. I know the Panda Puffs have peanuts but I don't know about the Gorilla Munch.

Welcome to the forum, @yellowstone! The most common ones seem to be dairy (casein), oats, eggs, soy and corn. "Formed" meat products (because of the "meat glue" used to hold their shape) is a problem for some. But it can be almost anything on an individual basis as your sensitivity to rice proves, since rice is uncommonly a "cross reactor" for celiacs. Some celiacs seem to not do well with any cereal grains.

What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.
