Is Organic Millet Flour gluten-free

I just bought some bread from the HF store and the girl told me that it was safe to eat but it says on the package that it contains gluten. She said that they only say that b/c they have wheat products in their bakery. Anyways the bread is called millet regular and it is made in deland, fl.

The only ingred that I'm worried about is organic millet flour...i've never heard of that flour. Is it gluten-free?

Millet itself is a gluten free ingredient. However, there are MANY reports of high levels of gluten contamination in Deland products. I wouldn't touch it. Below are some links to Delphi about Deland products. There have been problems with that company's products for years. Some of their products also contain spelt, which would not technically need to be labeled as wheat, but does contain gluten.

Hope this helps!

Millet flour is a safe ingredient, but that particular bread is not made in a dedicated bakery.

A celiac friend of mine is finally getting over being glutened by this bread.....

Thanks rmj when I first rang up it was we can't do it without , but I talked to a lovely lady and she sorted it all out for me, so it pays to be persistent , I would have had to decline if I hadn't been given the water option too , so yes I'm glad too 😌

I’m so glad they listened to your concerns!  I hope you get some answers from the MRI.

Had my MRI today I didn't have to have the manitol with my allergy's , I just had a litre of water , they were great with my concerns , so let's see if anything comes of if will keep posted once I have results 👍

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.
