Newly Pregnant And Ravenous!

Hello, I have been gluten-free for almost two years now and I'm finally pregnant! Yay! The thing is, I am hungry all the time. Also, I am nauseous all the time. Its really hard because I crave things that I didn't necessarily like when I WASNT on a gluten-free diet!! (uhh..subway? I have always hated that!) It seems that my body is hungry all the time, I try to eat as much protein as I can to sustain the hunger, but I'm still hungry! Any snack ideas? I avoid dairy and soy as well. I am running out of ideas! Help!

I haven't had the joy of getting pregnant, we just got married and plan to try in a few months.

Congrats!!!!!

First of all, Congrats of your pregnancy! :D

For food/snack ideas what about...

Lara Bars

Rice cakes with almond butter (and jelly?)

Potato chips (can be good when you're nauseous)

Food For Life Brown Rice tortillas with rice, beans, chicken as filling

Corn tortillas with black beans and beef/chicken with avocado as filling (great small, quick snack)

Carrot sticks

Apple slices with almond butter

I hope that helps!

Hi and Congrats! You must be so excited. I'm 23 weeks and lived on pickles and potato chips the first 8 weeks of being pregnant (i'm also gluten-free, DF & SF) Chicken noodle soup helped (minus the chicken - I just really wanted the broth!). I think it was anything salty that helped alleviate some of the nausea and also naps. Lots of fresh fruit and veggies was good too - i feel in love with celery and almond butter which i've never liked in my life!

I hope your "morning" sickness passes soon!

Absolutely my point with Kerrigan, the owner. She stood to secure many years of faithful patronage by simply inviting us in for a pastry or lunch. Or by simply producing another $50 e-card based on trust. We would have been highly satisfied. We are limited to a few restaurants in the area, and that would have been one. It was very disappointing, esp to my wife, to realize we can't patronize the place anymore.

You would think any business would see the wisdom of honoring a $50 gift certificate on the basis of customer satisfaction alone, apart from any questions about software glitches.

So there was no physical, plastic card involved, correct?

When my wife attempted to open the online card in the store with a cashier, it would not work. We then showed the owner the link to the card, the online receipt that I got upon purchase, and even my bank statement confirming the purchase. That did not satisfy her, since she said she needed the link to open to reveal the gift ID num. They even admitted they had a systems problem around that time.
